Bonnat is located north of Guéret, a few kilometres from the department's border with Indre. A multitude of small streams criss-cross this deeply agricultural land. In fact, it is on the banks of the Petite Creuse river that many of the town's strong points are to be found. The river offers unbelievable panoramas, especially on the former commune of Malval.
