This village of 200 inhabitants lies on the route of the old Regordane Way, a path once used by pilgrims on their way to Saint-Gilles, hence the presence of a fortress here. In the 18th and 19th centuries, caravans of mules and transhumant herds regularly took the Regordane route, stopping off at Luc. Here you can visit the 15th-century church and the château. The latter was built between the 6th and 10th centuries. Its restored keep was converted into a chapel in 1878. It has since been surmounted by a Virgin Mary. That same year, 1878, Luc was a stopover for Stevenson on his journey through the Cévennes.
