Halfway between the Black Mountain and the coast, this typically Languedoc village is raised in the middle of vineyards and olive trees. Small in size, it has many treasures inherited from its history: a Lombard-Romanesque church, remains of medieval ramparts, typical 19th century houses... But the jewel of Ouveillan is the famous Cistercian barn of Fontcalvy, built between 1270 and 1300. Originally, it belonged to the abbey of Fontfroide and housed the lay brothers who worked on the land. Now it is used as a setting for several summer events.
