Ordonnac is a small Gironde commune of around 500 inhabitants, not far from Lesparre-Médoc (and part of its catchment area). It takes its name fromOrdénac, the medieval name of the village where priests were ordained at the Abbey of Isle. The neo-Gothic Saint-Romain church, dating from the 19th century, the Potensac chapel, the remains of the Saint-Pierre canons' abbey and Château Potensac are all worth a visit. The butte de la Lot, made of clay-limestone, is also an interesting natural feature of the village. A quiet stopover with plenty to discover in the Médoc.
