Crossed by the Sound and the Senge, the village of Les Planches-en-Montagne is located at the borders of the Jura, bordering the country of Champagnole and that of the Grandvaux. One of the largest houses in the village was a very busy stop by "ro-ro" who descended from the St. Lawrence-en-Grandvaux region with their horse carts, loaded with products manufactured in the Haut-Jura. Many walks are possible from the village to discover the waterfalls and forests of the surrounding area. You can choose the one that starts at the gorges of La Langouette, rises to the Lac de la Dame, reach Foncine-le Bas, then follow the Gorges gorges and the old tram route. Walkers will be 3 hours and will not miss their efforts!
