From Mouthier-Haute-Pierre, follow the signs for Ouhans, before turning right onto the Route de la Source. Drive up a series of gorges before reaching the springs. It was in 1906 that the mystery of the Loue's origins was finally solved. Following a fire at the Pontarlier absinthe warehouses, the tanks were emptied into the Doubs. It was then certain that the Loue was a resurgence of the Doubs. The proof? The color and aniseed taste of the water a few days later. The aniseed taste has since gone! Its clarity and freshness are testament to its quality. Exceptionally well-preserved, its springs attract many visitors.
