At an altitude of 940 m, this village is nestled as much as wrapped up in thick forests of fir trees. The Gayots and Gayotes, as the inhabitants are called, live at the rhythm of nature. It is distinguished by the richness of its heritage. We can mention the 14th century church of Saint-Georges, the 16th century law house, the chapel of Notre-Dame de Lourdes and the original semi-circular washhouse. The village also offers a unique view of the Swiss Jura mountain range. One of the local children is a national and even international celebrity in the person of Joseph Vermot, who is none other than the founder of the more than one hundred year old Almanach Vermot.
