The village lies between the remains of the Château de Consolation and a Roman camp at Grand-Chaux. Vennes is a toponym meaning marshy pasture. A place where people like to have fun. In February, the men's festival brings them together for a religious service. Then they gather in the cheese dairy for an aperitif, a meal that goes on merrily well into the night. In July, at the village festival, almost 4,000 people attend the parade of floats created by residents of the 6 village districts! Last but not least, you'll love the 18th-century Notre-Dame de l'Assomption church, its fountains and its covered wash-house and drinking trough.
