The history of this village with water is not trivial. While the source of the Cusancin is located at the bottom of the valley, Cusance was the last commune in France to be connected to the water network in 1980! The setting is magical here in its haven of dense greenery. It was a seigneury and then a barony in the 7th century. A walk to the Blue Spring is a must, but also to the ruins of the castle keep, the church of Notre Dame de Cusance and the chapel of Saint-Ermenfroy. The latter was a saint of Germanic origin who lived for a long time in the Doubs. He is the founder of the local priory of Cusance on a former nunnery
