In the south of the Argonne, Braux-Saint-Remy is a charming village of 86 inhabitants, the Brauxiens, where you can admire some magnificent half-timbered buildings, typical of the Argonne architecture. Passed from Braux-Val-Cérès, then to Braux-Cérès, during the Revolution, Braux owes its name to the bro, grape marc in langue d'oïl, and also to the Gallic word bracu, or bracium in lower Latin, which means valley.
