We know the famous literary prize, minus the origin of the name. The village of the Goncourt brothers, which was actually called Huot, is a tiny commune. Both brothers frequently stayed during their childhood in this hard and endearing champeness campaign; their grandparents were Breuvannes, where the family owned the "drops-drops", they evoke it several times in their famous Journal. Goncourt is a "small village in the great name" to which both brothers, Edmond and Jules, brought the notoriety by holding a literary salon in Passy, became academy of Goncourt in 1903. It is Edmont who, on his will, wants to set up the Goncourt Prize: " The members of the company will do a kind thing to my memory if they want to call it the "Goncourt Prize", which proves the commitment of the famous brothers to their hometown. Little by little "Huot de" disappeared for the benefit of the known surgeon. But Goncourt is also a charming little village, at the door of the Vosges, we appreciate the banks of Meuse and the lace.
