This village, which was apparently large in the xiith century, northeast of Nogent-sur-Seine, is located on the right of the ancient Roman road. In the past, two communes were distinguished, La Villeneuve and Le Châtelot. In the so-called "Grosse Pierre" street, a covered stone is embedded in the pignot of a house and tumultuous stones around the surrounding area. If the village is less renowned now, it was not the case in Gallo-Roman times, since it had no less than 18 potters! The cracked blue pottery, as colored clay, is easily recognizable and culminated in the iie century. There are also dolmens around the corner.
