Situated 44 kilometers from Épernay, it's a very pleasant town that retains the air of a medieval city, with its church, narrow streets, squares and shady malls. Settled on this mound since the 10th century, it has survived history and kept its picturesque streets with evocative names: rue Cogne-Fort, la ruelle aux Chats, la Queue-de-Renard... The malls follow the remains of the ramparts, and that of the Cordeliers recalls the monks who settled here in 1263. In the heart of the town, you'll admire the imposing Saint-Denis church, whose nave is unique in that the apse and transept were destroyed in 1801. See also the hospital-hospice, built in 1164.
