The Sarce winds its way to Avirey-Lingey, a simple stream that wanders between the Saint-Phal church in Avirey and the Sainte-Geneviève chapel in Lingey. However, it ends up joining the Seine. Not far from there, in the vestiges of the priory of Sèche-Fontaine, still resound the silent prayers of Saint Bruno, who came to meditate in these places before leaving for the Alps to found the Grande Chartreuse, at the beginning of the 12th century. Avirey-Lingey is above all a wine-producing village. Indeed, this part of the Barsquan region has nearly 150 hectares of vines, mainly planted with Pinot Noir, and is home to some 40 growers.
