For years, a team of volunteers has been working hard to ensure the success of this cultural event. It takes place in the heart of the village. With around a hundred authors of all genres (literary, regional, thrillers, comics, travelers...), critics and journalists are always present. And then there are the readings and conferences held in courtyards shaded by plane mulberry trees. The event closes with a friendly glass of Côtes du Rhône wine, offered by local winemakers.

Lapalud is a humid plain which, at one time, was covered with fields of mulberry, madder and vines.

One day, a Lapalutian brought back sorghum seeds from the neighboring countryside which he planted on his property. Its cultivation was imposed, its flexible straw is very easy to handle and the inhabitants started to shape it and to use it as a broom. In the 1920's, Lapalud had four broom-making establishments; the sunny holidaymakers who travelled on the N7 used to stop there to buy them (Luis Mariano or Jean Nohain would have been seen there). But the glory of this small village disappeared the day when the Ponts et Chaussées had to divert the N7 which bypasses the town: no more brooms, brushes, feather dusters. Also arrived on the market the competition of the Eastern countries, the setting in circulation of the broom "heather of roadman" (the broom of witch) and the vacuum cleaner.

Since 2015, the municipality and the festival committee organize the first weekend of June the festival of brooms which includes a colorful foot race with or without broom, a petanque competition, a hike, musical entertainment and aperitifs. A convivial moment guaranteed.

Welcome to medieval festivities in Colmars! Set in a magnificent setting of ancient stones steeped in history, the weekend features a wide range of events: music concerts, horse and bird of prey shows, medieval meals, lectures, old trades, battles, old-fashioned flag-throwing... Large craftsmen's market in the town squares. And if you'd like to join in the fun, rent a costume. Days rich in learning and contemplation, both visual and auditory!

This is one of the most beautiful traditional festivals in France! Organised by the association "The Circle of Peillasque Union", the festivities allow to share and make known the strong times of the lives of the inhabitants of yesteryear, very marked by the succession of harvests and thus seasons: the villagers and the exhibitors are doing so, the time of a weekend, to revive the actions of their elders, perpetuating the traditions of wheat and lavender cutting which make the village originality. The atmosphere is at the heart of joy and conviviality. Moreover, all those who wanted it can participate in the cuts.

It's a show not to be missed! An ocean of several thousand ewes, lambs and rams as well as Rove goats (an ancient Provencal breed) and donkeys accompanied by their shepherds in traditional costume and their dogs parade twice around the old town center. It is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful traditional festivals of Provence. It symbolizes the departure of the flocks of sheep that leave Provence in spring to join the pastures of the Alps. And all day long, there is a flea market and a cheese fair.

The village pays tribute to the writer who lived in Fontvieille. On the agenda of this day: mass in Provençal under the walkway of the Pines, great pegoulado in the streets of the village with parade of regionalists groups in traditional costumes, then dances at the foot of the mill of Daudet with its and lights at the Théâtre de Greenbelt du moulin de Daudet.

Every year Eyguières honours his patron saint, Vérédème, who arrived in the village in the th century. The program of this festival lasts five days: race decorative, ball, rally for children, folk parade, pre-dinner lunch, abrivado, giant aioli and fireworks show. Between tradition and conviviality.

Every year in June, the inhabitants of the small village of Maussane decorate a wagon, the Ramado Ramado, to honor Eloi, the protector of the bêtes and trait. Created to honour the patron saint of the city, the Votive Party of Saint-Rémy brings together lovers of Provençal traditions, fine costumes and the Provençal feast. It takes place every year for 10 days, when you combine bulls races, swane out of bulls in the streets, balls, fireworks and carnival.

At the midnight mass in Saint Vincent church, the inhabitants of Les Baux-de-Provence return to this very ancient ceremony and animated the living crèche. The pastrage pays tribute to the shepherds. This very ancient pastoral custom corresponds to the period of lambing. The boss of the pastres wearing his cape of bure, a enrubanné hat and holding his pilgrim's stick, is surrounded by other shepherds, children and girls who are present, including a small pastre holding the last born lamb. The procession is illuminated by light lights passing through the village. All the pastres then go into procession to the altar, to the sound of drums and galoubets, to bring the lamb in offering the priest in offering the priest and paying homage to the child Jesus.

Every summer, on the second Sunday in June, Escragnolles celebrates donkeys. In the neighborhood of Colette, donkeys from all regions of France are gathered. Demonstrations of maréchalerie, exhibitions and presentations of donkeys and ponies, promenades walks, as all visitors.

Each year, the Maillanais commemorate the birth of the poet Frédéric Mistral, born on 8 September 1830. During this day, a mass in Provence was followed by a pilgrimage to the cemetery in tribute to the poet with the participation of the Atelier du Costume, Des and Children of Schools workshop. Then, place to show and animations, with concert and book to book in the streets of the village.

Renaissance of a former local tradition where the villagers secretly celebrated their patron saint Clair through a long solemn procession through the streets. Rounds of tromblons, songs, folk dances and three scenes interpreted on the square of Romérage close this procession.

Once a year, the fat galline - chicken - is cooking for about five hundred guests, to remind you of the huge meal that would emerge at the end of the harvest. A demonstration associated with Templières days.

A traditional and folk procession in memory of Saint Aygulphe, a pilgrim monk of Lérins Abbey who was tortured by the rebel monks in the year 660.

Weekend dedicated to the tree that gave its name to the town, with activities for children and folk dances, exhibitions, advice on planting, maintenance, pruning, introduction to the flavors and tasting of olive oil.
