MILLEVIN – FÊTE DU MILLÉSIME ET DES CÔTES DU RHÔNE PRIMEUR
A great rendez-vous in Avignon to discover the early wines and other vintages of the Côtes du Rhône, with, in the morning, a tasting-sale at the Halles d'Avignon where fifteen companies present their first-ever Côtes-du-Rhone in the friendly atmosphere of the Halles d'Avignon. In the first part of the evening, the Clock Square and the Place des Corps-Saints, some wine growers and traders enjoy their wines, while the shops in the studios offer gourmet plates: aligot, meats, oysters, etc., in nice gourmands chalets. Then it is the parade of more than 160 members of a dozen brotherhoods, picturesque, colourful and… musical: they walk from the Maison des Vins, rue des Trois-Falcons to the Clock Square where they sing the Provençal anthem La Coupo Santo, written by the great Frédéric Mistral. And finally, from 20 a. m., a glass of the côtes-du-rhône is offered as an aperitif by the partner restaurants avignon…
