Created in 2010, La Folle Nuit is one of the major events in the cultural season offered by the town of Noirmoutier-en-l'Île, and completes the island's calendar of major events. If you're a classical music fan, make sure you remember these dates: May 24 and 25, 2024. Organized in partnership with CREA, the organizer of La Folle Journée en Pays-de-la-Loire, a classical music festival soon to celebrate its 30th anniversary, La Folle Nuit features five concerts over two days, with a main theme each year.

Every August, the Port de Morin Festival takes place in the village of L'Épine on the island of Noirmoutier. Organized by the Association du Port de Morin, the event features a variety of activities starting at 3 p.m., with numerous free stands, a meal under marquees, musical entertainment in other marquees, including sea chanteys, free games for children, sea walks and, in the evening, a free dance with live band and fireworks courtesy of the municipality.

To celebrate its tenth anniversary, the Festival des Sciences will be entitled "10 ans de passions! Organized by the association Les Sciences et nous, it takes place in the commune of Noirmoutier-en-l'Île. To mark this anniversary, the festival has set itself the goal of presenting the evolution of science and discoveries in the various fields covered by past festivals. Successive themes have included vision, nutrition and food, water, energy, climate, the brain, the ocean, biomimicry...

Every season for over 30 years, a wave of culture has swept along the Atlantic coast, with this seaside festival of music and street arts! The festivities kick off on Ascension weekend with "La Déferlante de Printemps", and return in July and August with "La Déferlante d'Été", in 11 seaside resorts along the Loire-Atlantique and Vendée coasts, Saint-Brévin-les-Pins, Pornic, Barbâtre, Noirmoutier-en-l'Île, Notre-Dame-de-Monts, Saint-Jean-de-Monts, Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez, Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, Brétignolles-sur-Mer, Les Sables-d'Olonne and La Tranche-sur-Mer. An original cultural and artistic program, and most importantly, free of charge.

Every Sunday in July, the villages of the commune of Beaufort in Anjou animate the sound of the street arts. The shows alternately invest each municipality and take place in the streets, squares or courses. Above all, it is moments of poetry and reverie for small and large.

The "Au Coeur des Bulles" comic strip festival takes place in Montreuil-Bellay. The festival showcases the work of numerous comic strip artists, with this year's guest of honor Patrick Prugne, scriptwriter and comic strip artist. Visitors will be able to discover an exhibition of Patrick Prugne's work, as well as an exhibition of manga drawings by students from Collège Calypso in Montreuil-Bellay. Free comic book workshops will also be offered throughout the weekend, supervised by professionals in the field. New this year is the presence of a puppet theater hosted by Michel Rodrigue, designer of "Cubitus", as well as a performance on a mechanical horse by Compagnie NOROC, semi-finalists in the M6 show "Un incroyable talent", with the participation of Manon Moutinho, the first French woman to win a Voltige World Cup final. These events are free and open to all.

The Zones Portuaires festival in Saint-Nazaire is a cinephile's rendez-vous not to be missed. With screenings in iconic locations such as Cinéma Jacques Tati, Cinéville, the submarine base, l'open air, Bain Public, Kiosque, Bibliothèque Anne Frank and Sous les palmiers la plage, the event offers a diversity of unique settings for an experience you won't find in conventional cinemas. In addition to film screenings, the festival encourages discussion by organizing meetings with directors and actors. Friendly spaces, bars and restaurants allow you to relax between screenings, making this festival an immersive and enriching cinematic experience.
