MAISON COLIN SEGUIN

Winery
5/5
3 reviews

It is since 2010 that Colin Seguin, a breeder-breeder, recognized for his excellent value for money, has its wine tasting cellar in Nights-Saint-Georges. Ideally located at the northern entrance of the city, the cellar contains all the treasures of the House, and a free wine tasting can be enjoyed. All bottles are labeled Colin Seguin, from the most beautiful Villages to the most famous Grands Crus. The house Colin Seguin, born in business activity, evolves towards a domain structure. Some vineyards are already on property, but above all the house buys either grapes, or must, or ready-to-eat parts, ten every year to the sale of the wines of Nuits-Saint-Georges. The winery's wine cellar optimizes the wine cellars and livestock in the cellars and cellars Nuitonnes. The year 2013 was an important year in the evolution of the house Colin Seguin because it started taking this profile of owner-trader-trader to master the process of developing its wines, a evolution to be seen absolutely by the rediscovery of its appellations.

Located in the upper part of Santenay, this address tutoie the mountain of the Trois-Croix and the Saône-et-Loire nearby. Six generations have worked the vine since the creation of the domain in the th century: François, Lazare, Joseph, Marcel and today Christiane Bachey-Legros, a single daughter, assisted by her sons, Lénaïc and Samuel. One word: respect for the vine. The lands of the domain span 18 ha, from Maranges to Chassagne passing through Santenay. They provide regional designations as well as the excellent Santenay Old-Vineyards Clos des Hâtes, Santenay 1 st Cru Clos Rousseau and Chassagne-Montrachet Old Vines for the Red. White side, the Cru-Montrachet 1 st cru Cru attracts attention, just like the Santenay Sous la Roche. A beautiful area regularly welcomed by rewards.

Julien Mareschal has a solid background in different regions. Installed in 2003, he went organic in 2012. 5 ha planted in côte de Feule have been joined since 2017 by the slopes of Sous la roche, Caillot, Marcette and Ecrins. The vines are aged from 7 to 77 years allowing a multi-generational marriage. The Pupillanais likes to experiment, like this "Vénéon", a ploussard vinified in white. A music lover at his leisure, he also organises "Vinprovisations" evenings, a combination of music and commented tasting.

The Vandelle family is one of the oldest and most recognized dynasties in the Jura. Philippe, who has taken over from his father Bernard, welcomes customers to the family winegrower's house, perched on a hillside. It looks out over Mount Morin, whose impressive slope hosts most of the 15 hectares of the estate. The latter includes 60% chardonnay and 30% savagnin with a predominance of white marl. The young stellian has long favoured sustainable agriculture. A shower of stars (gold medals) crown his work, especially for his crémants and yellow wines. Almost thirty in 10 years! This is a fine example of an ambassador for the "Vignobles et Découvertes" label. Straw wines are very delicate. We were amazed by the Crémant du Jura blanc brut, a regular bubble all in finesse, a frank effervescence and a smooth length. He should also hit the target in the biggest confrontations.

The gateway to the Bresse region of the Jura, this estate dates back several generations. 15 ha in AOC l'Etoile and Côtes du Jura, on the slopes of Mount Tausson. The grandfather Lucien Michel farmed up to 13 hectares. His son, André, joined him, then in 1995, his grandson Jean-François became the manager. This great modest wine shines as much as its white wines (vin jaune, savagnin, crémant du Jura, vin de paille, macvin, chardonnay). If you have the opportunity to visit the hillsides and the walls of the cellar, devote some more time to the "liquid fan".

It all started with a love story. Suzanne met Pierre, they got married and had many children. Three to be precise: Maxime, Romain and Pierre-Marie. Three brothers who seemed destined to take over the family estate in Couchey. But even if you have this gift in your blood, being a winegrower cannot be improvised. And that is the character of the Derey family: pugnacity, research and a visceral attachment to a terroir and its fruit. Being young winemakers is their strength, and it is by respecting the soil of their ancestors that they revisit this dusty, old school Burgundy that they love so much. The moral of the story? Love (of wine) always wins.

It is probably also because Laurent has already worked as a merchant for 20 years before opening his own cellar. He is well acquainted with Burgundy wine growers and about 150 in his shop. The prices it offers are as low as possible. The cellar also has an impressive beer radius with more than 300 references… and strong alcohols are also well represented. The top 50 of the whiskies and its top 20 of the rums are appreciated. Add to all this that it is one of the few wine merchants in Beaune able to host one or more buses. Eleven generations of Tissot have succeeded each other in this family. Outstanding distillers who pamper the vines at Château-Chalon and maintain a wine trade. The dynasty began when Claude settled in the village in 1600. Pascal, the current boss, continues the adventure with the same rigour under vaults engraved in 1560! With the Tissot comes at first sight the religiously convoluted "Marc du Jura". No need to travel the world to find international specialities. The burnery produces "Prohibition" labelled Jura whiskies (aged in barrels of macvin, straw wine, yellow wine, or even trousseau...). There is also Jurask'aya vodka, Jura gin d'gin, rum in straw wine casks. As for fruit brandies, they also play on originality: wild sloe, quince... Let us not miss another institution of the house, the ancestral family liqueur Juramelli yellow or green like its Carthusian neighbour.

LA MAISON DE ROSE

At La Fontaine, Dominique Grand will welcome you with simplicity and passion. A discreet professional who does not like laurels. He went organic in 2009. His 3 hectares in the Côtes-du-Jura region are devoted to white wines. The maturing under veil of the savagnin has been abandoned. The freshness and minerality are found in 3 categories: classic white in barrels, traminer-type cuvée and November harvest. The winegrower is building a solid reputation with a late harvest called "École buissonnière". Trials in red are made with the beclan, an ancient grape variety of the area.

As part of the Burgundy Wine Route, the domaine of Marc Jambon et fils is an ideal stopping-off point for a vineyard tour and cellar tasting. The domaine is a family business dating back to 1750. In early 2017, the team expanded, with Michel PRUDHON joining Pierre-Antoine at the head of the domaine and Marc gradually acclimatizing to his retirement. The domaine's production includes Bourgogne aligoté and Mâcon Pierreclos white wines, Pouilly-Vinzelles and Mâcon Pierreclos red wines, and a selection of dry and sweet vins de France that contribute to the domaine's reputation. The estate also organizes gourmet tastings for groups. A few meters or kilometers further on, you can admire the Roche de Solutré, the prehistory museum or the Vergisson menhir. High Environmental Value certified farm.

For generations, the family business has been established on the La Moynerie estate, in the heart of the Pouilly vineyard. From the 40 hectares of vineyards, situated on the hillsides overlooking the Loire, rich and harmonious wines are produced. But the jewel of the vineyard is to be found in the vines planted on the hill of Saint-Andelain, whose clay-siliceous soil gives this minerality to the excellent Pouilly-Fumé. Beautiful vintages and generous wines to discover!
