This beautiful eighteenth century building is adjacent to the basilica. Bought by the Paray municipality in 1791 alongside the basilica, it has hosted the elementary schools of the city for a long time. The church Saint-Christophe became a cathedral in 1979 and set its classic facade of rose sandstone on the Place de'in the old heart of Belfort. Classified Historic Monument since 1930, it was built in record time from 1726 to 1750, thanks to popular generosity. Inside, all the sculptures are franc artist Antoine Cupillard. You can also admire the paintings of the Belfortain painter Gustave Dauphin. The large organs, works by Valtrin de Mirecourt, were built in 1749. After the work on the North and East façades, the rehabilitation of the North Tower is under consideration.
