CHURCH OF SAINT-SEINE-L'ABBAYE
Read more25 km from Dijon, in the middle of the forests of Val Suzon, after a 20-minute journey on a winding road, the oldest Gothic Gothic building will point in the middle of the trees. Originally a monastery of the century lived instead of the abbey still on foot. Founded by a monk bearing the name "Sigo" who over time will give the name "Seigne", meaning "Seine", although this sanctuary "sanctus sequanus" has even older origins. The abbey church, in itself, sees the beginning of its construction at the end of the th century and will be completed in the th and th centuries under three abbots, including Jean de Blaisy and Pierre de Fontette. Moreover, we can see the tombstones of the latter in the church. The th century portal is decorated with typical plant motifs typical of Burgundy Gothic. The four-pillar nave and collateral is a fine example of the churches plan of that time. A th century carved stone jubé in the nave was moved to the choir. There are th-century stalls. The most exceptional element is undoubtedly the wall paintings dating back to 1504. They represent the legend of Saint Seine in 22 paintings in the north of the church and, to the south the tree of Jesse, Saint Christopher and litanies of the Virgin in a style that draws its influences in the Renaissance.

EGLISE SAINT-PIERRE-ET-SAINT-PAUL
Read moreDating from the twelfth century, the church was rebuilt in the fifteenth century, and its apse was rebuilt in the nineteenth century according to the model of a Romanesque apse. The gem of this church is its twelfth century crypt, classified as a Historical Monument, and whose walls are covered with frescoes dating from the first half of the fourteenth century: a procession of clerics and laity, unique theme known in Nièvre, greets us at the entrance to the crypt and leads us near the altar where the scene of the Crucifixion is represented. On one of the vaults of the crypt, you can see Christ showing his wounds, surrounded by symbols of the four evangelists. Oak leaves, four-leaf clovers and small flowers complement the decor. Note the elegance of the shapes, the preciousness of the gestures and the attitudes which suggest the artistic style from Cour de Saint Louis.

JARDIN DU PETIT ROI DE GRÂCE - SANCTUAIRE DIOCÉSAIN DU SAINT-ENFANT JESUS
Read moreLe Petit Roi de Grace is a wonderful statuette made of polychrome wood, 58 cm high and sometimes adorned with sumptuous clothes. It was probably carved by a noble of the name Gaston de Renty. In 1643, he offered it to Marguerite Parigot, a carmelite carmelite carmelite. Entering the Carmel of Beaune at the age of 11, she would have had visions of the child Jesus as well as a gift to help the difficult childbirth, heal new babies and fight sterility. In his prayers, she saw the birth of the future King Louis XIV, born after 12 years of marriage. Many miracles allow Marguerite to be revered since, under the name Marguerite du Saint-Sacrement. Today, the sisters of the community of the Beatitudes leave the monastery to leave their place to 3 carmelite apostolic sisters of the child Jesus from Poland. If they were to expand their community, the place itself was recently proclaimed "sanctuary" and could gain importance as a place of pilgrimage. Don't forget to go through the magnificent Jardin du Petit Roi de Grace: A quiet area, outside the world, ideal for recharge. It houses the chapel in which the statue of the King of Grace is located. A scenic project is being considered to animate the garden and to live the place in a new way.
