The Basilica of Our Lady of White is the place where a miracle occurred in 1608 on the night of Pentecost
The parish church of the small town Franche is an ancient abbey. Indeed, for more than a thousand years (from 722 to 1791), Faverney hosted an abbey. First of all nuns, and then Benedictine monks. They were driven to the Revolution. Notre-Dame church, a basilica since 1912, dates back to the th century. The nave and the façade are of Romanesque inspiration while the choir is Gothic. It is here that in 1608 there is a "miracle": on the night of Pentecost, a fire is unleashed in the church, it ruins everything but saves a monstrance that houses hosts… It is like hanging over the ashes for one day and one whole night! Many witnesses attend the «prodigy» recognized by the Pope in 1863. The place is still a place of popular pilgrimage.
