It is in the shopping street François de Mahy that is installed this small cocoon of greediness. At the Line Coffee & Shop you will be welcomed by a young and dynamic team in a pink powdered atmosphere. These passionate people are busy in the kitchen to concoct a nice range of sweet and salty homemade sweets every week: avocado toast, hot dog, truffled club sandwich, cookie, carrot cake, cheesecake... A handful of tables inside and no reservation possible. Only small drawback: the address is not equipped with toilets.

On the corner of rue Marius et Ary Leblond and rue François Isautier, Le Bistroké welcomes you to its 20-seat air-conditioned dining room, with its warm, cosy atmosphere. From croque-monsieur to ceviche, boletus risotto, andouillette AAAAA sauce au poivre vert péi or chili sin carne, the restaurant offers a brasserie-style menu. At Le Bistroké, simplicity rhymes with quality, with suggestions renewed weekly and everything home-cooked, using fresh seasonal produce. Dishes can also be taken away.

Not far from the fishermen's quarter of Terre Sainte, the Risofé restaurant serves traditional Creole cuisine. On the menu are a variety of curries, rougails and sautés to be discovered daily: baba fig boucané, cabri massage, civet lapin, rougail morue, fried sausages, rougail chevaquines... Not forgetting the restaurant's specialty: heated rice, of course! You can enjoy your meal on the pleasant, shaded terrace with its modern decor, or order a tray to take away. Wine bar and tapas in the evening.

A Greek in Saint-Leu! And not the least. This little roadside restaurant offers delicious Greek sandwiches, the famous "pita", at very reasonable prices. Fresh produce, homemade sauces, organic bread and mezze, lemonade, cookies, cottage cheese and a well-honed savoir-faire delight all who stop in. If you're lucky enough to get a seat (less than 10 places and no reservations required), you'll also enjoy a sublime view of the lagoon.

Vegan lovers, you've come to the right place! Choose from two burgers of the day, two wraps and fries. All 100% vegan, homemade, inexpensive and full of flavor. some would say "a killer". It's true that there's enough here to reconcile non-practitioners with vegan cuisine, so much so that the quality is top-notch. Delicious, healthy, well-seasoned and hearty. Not to mention the warm welcome and kindness of the owners. A faultless performance from this little "atipik" roadside food truck.

Two Réunion Islanders with a love of South America have taken up the challenge of this family-run restaurant, which delights curious travelers' taste buds. Warm colors and Latin music set the mood. The cocktails are "to die for", and the food succulent. With tacos, ask for the extra guacamole, it'll be even better. Papichūlo takes its inspiration from authentic recipes, and the tortillas used are made by a Mexican woman living in Réunion Island. The welcome is warm, the service attentive and efficient.

THE gourmet restaurant in Cilaos. A la carte or set menu, with a choice of dishes of the moment: red tuna tartare with pineapple or Cilaos lentil velouté with truffle and foie gras, grouper steak or duck breast with Bourbon vanilla. For dessert, our heart sways between chocolate coulant and crème brûlée. Good classics, without much creativity, but rich in flavor, and in a warm setting. The restaurant owner was alone in the dining room when we visited, and tables were limited, so it's best to make a reservation.

Unanimous success for Hippi'Eat, which fills up every weekend at brunch time! Reservations are essential, especially if you want a seat outside. The setting is well worth its weight in gold, with tables set out on the terrace under a hundred-year-old badamier tree, directly facing the sea. The dishes combine flavors from here and abroad, and the brunch formula may seem a little too standardized, but other options are available à la carte. Here, we take the time to live, in an atmosphere of peace and love.

Traditional, family-style Creole cuisine. Jennifer and Jérôme, the parents, work in the kitchen, while Sheryl, their daughter, handles customer relations and cashiering. Their restaurant is always busy at lunchtime, with a large local clientele of regulars and Réunionese. Palm salad, chicken or fresh fish carry, cabbage vacoa boucané, sausage rougail... You'll find the great classics of Creole cuisine on a daily-changing à l'ardoise menu, with a maximum of five-six dishes and a few desserts. Fast service and a warm welcome.

Smiles and efficiency are the hallmarks of this new space. Downstairs, the restaurant, where visitors come for morning coffee, a quick lunch or to sip a cocktail on the terrace in the evening, takes on the allure of a guinguette. On the plate, "happiness is homemade". Upstairs is the coworking space for workers without a fixed office, digital nomads and other users (hourly, half-day, daily or monthly rates). Two distinct services for a single space dedicated to "happyterrians" that combines business with pleasure.

This restau-bistrot is a unanimous favorite. Creative metropolitan cuisine, enhanced by exotic and local flavors. The classics are well represented (beef tongue, sweetbreads, duck confit...), but you'll find just as much pleasure in savoring a delicious coconut punch, followed by a "zourite carpaccio" and sweet potato gnocchi with gorgonzola sauce and caramelized hazelnuts. The chef can even concoct a gluten-free, lactose-free or sugar-free dish if required. The place, with its atypical decor, is very friendly and welcoming.

Sautéed pork with green beans, halal chicken civet, shrimp or vegetable shop suey, sausage rougail, bichique curry, chicken or vegetable briani, tofu with grandma's sauce, gratins, salads and quiches of the day, not to mention delicious homemade ice creams (try the peanut ice cream, you'll be amazed!): there's something for every taste bud, hungry belly and gourmand. On the terrace or to take away, this is a local snack like we like them, that doesn't compromise on quality, is efficient and... super-convivial!

Friendly atmosphere on the large terrace of this snack bar overlooking the skatepark of Saline-les-Bains, where young and old mingle in a joyful atmosphere because they usually come with their children. While the adults have a drink, usually local residents, the little ones have fun in the playground, and the older ones on the ramp, skateboarding, rollerblading or scootering. In the kitchen, they offer burgers, paninis, salads, French fries and ice cream, as well as a more elaborate daily special.

"Gluttony is the sin of good souls" We can't remain indifferent to this pretty quote displayed on the counter. Kaban' à Wok doesn't have the scale of a big restaurant, but it does have heart and concocts delicious Creole and Chinese takeaway dishes: rougail saucisse, rougail morue, carry poulet papaye, carry bichique, boucané bringelle, daurade au lait de coco, chicken shop suey... enough to satisfy any gourmet appetite. Wok cuisine is the order of the day here, and if you're looking for fast food, this is the place to go.

Nestled at the foot of Cap Homard, this rondavelle has been reinvigorated by its new managers, and has a lot to offer. Firstly, its location, under a huge safari tent facing the natural shade of the filaos and the white sandy beach; secondly, its sleek, comfortable furnishings; and thirdly, its à la carte menu offering a varied selection of traditional dishes, with accents of local produce. Whether you come for a hearty breakfast, lunch or dinner, or for a festive aperitif tapas cocktail at sunset, the atmosphere is always pleasant.

An interior design space with a central fireplace, a terrace that opens onto the gardens, the pool and the peaks of Salazie, the decor is perfect. The menu, signed by the starred chef Paolo Boscaro and entrusted to the chef Joey Atchama, evolves according to their desires. An intuitive and creative French-inspired cuisine with flavors inspired by the land and the seasons, and high quality local products, harvested in a short circuit from organic farmers, some vegetables even coming from the hotel's garden in sustainable culture.
