The most beautiful natural sites to discover Italy

Spiaggia Des Bains, a three-minute bike ride from the city center, is one of the Lido's iconic beaches. The beach is bathed by the Adriatic Sea and has an extremely large stretch of sand that is ultra clean and supervised daily by lifeguards. It is the ideal place to come and relax with your family for the day, especially since it has a small, modern and fun open-air bar. The wooden deckchairs and the 200 private cabins, arranged in a meticulous way, row by row, facing the sea, are what give the place its vacation feel.

This public park on the shores of the lake houses a bar, the Tarocchiera, in an old house where the rich local families come to play aux. Other sights of the site include: a large staircase connecting the two parts of the park and a large fountain with two overlapping dolphins by young children.

For the most courageous, the site offers the possibility of measuring at the via ferrata in the imposing gorges dug by the river of Du Riparia. Departure and return from Giaglione. From the village of Giaglione, leave the car near the school where a sign indicates via ferrata. In 35 min, we reach the bottom of the gorge of the torrent Doria Riparia. Place of return: Castello di Giaglione. A long crossing with 2 shoreline changes through rugged Nepalese bridges (very large cables), and an ascent on gray slabs to climb your throat. Count 4 to 5 hours of ferrata. The place, very wild, gives the impression of making progress in a jungle, and the passages above the torrent in the gorges are impressive.

There are many waterfalls in the Novalesa Valley. They are visible from the village. Their access is well indicated ("Cascate").

The site is protected. It is impossible to access its upper part by car. Once you have seen the Mediterranean vegetation, you will have a splendid view of the Gulf and Gaeta.

The Selva del Circeo is of course accessible on foot and by bicycle. Do not miss the long dunes that border a large part of the coastline.

The waterfall is located on one of the small tributaries of the Sangro upstream of Lake Barrea. Nearby you will find the Sanctuary Belvedere della Liscia, through a dense beech forest. It's an easy walk and if you're lucky, you may be a chamois or eagle.

Managed by Cogecstre Co-operative, this 150 ha nature reserve offers courses around the lake and includes an environmental education center.

A natural reserve with beautiful waterfalls, at the foot of dolomitic dolomitic summits.

It is true that there are no beautiful stretches of wild sand that await you, but rather private plages beaches. Be warned. That being said, water is blue, fine sand, parasols and sun loungers work wonderfully. Although it is in the middle of the city, the beach is rather clean and good news for families, we walk very far. One of the first truly pleasant beaches is located near Porto Turistico to the east: It is the Lido Azzuro, very well-known, small and well-designed. A little further away, the Lido delle Sirene and its lively bar, the Playa. The crowd is on the outskirts of Pineta di Pescara on the large beaches of the eastern part of the city. We train cars along the road - be patient in summer, the waiting queue is long - and a small access corridor leads to the sand.

Excursions, a museum and a botanical garden, as well as a buff zone. The reserve is located in the communes of Lama dei Peligni and Civitella Messer Raimondo. Take the motorway A -14 Bologna-Canosa exit Val di Sangro, follow the road of Sangro towards Castel del Sangro to the exit Piane d'Archi-Casoli, follow SS -84 by passing through Casoli.

By train and bus: Palena station and bus line Sulmona-Carpione and descend to Lama dei Peligni. Or Gare station and bus line Pescara-Lanciano-Castel del Sangro and descend to Lama dei Peligni.

Perched at 900 m above sea level, garden of greenery of 450 ha of oak, ash, box and robiniers. There is a rest area where you can park. In order to recover, a restaurant awaits you. Another solution, the picnic. You can visit the little church San Giovanni Guadalberto.

This is where the Biferno River originated. There is a beautiful view of the surrounding area.

At its summit, which is joined from the church of San Giorgio by borrowing the Viale delle Rimembranze, we meet the church Santa Maria del Monte and the Castello Monforte.

This superb nature reserve is located in Torre del Sale, about 12 kilometres from Piombino, on the road to Vignale. It extends over approximately 92 ha of freshwater ("Bottagone") or saltwater ("Orti") ponds, and is home to more than 200 species of birds, the stars of which are white herons, white storks and geese. The site is one of 117 oases protected by WWF Italy. An ideal spot for birdwatching and beautiful walks in perspective.

Marina di Campo is probably the largest of all the beaches on the island of Elba. It is almost 1,400 metres long. And fortunately! Because in summer, it is quickly taken by the trendy youth on holiday. It is nevertheless magnificent, with its fine golden sand worthy of a postcard. Some parts are freely accessible. The beach is easily accessible by foot from the city centre of Marina di Campo.

The Costa del Sud, which stretches from Pula to Porto Teulada, is a sparsely populated area of wide sandy beaches, bays alternating with rocky promontories, coves and Spanish towers. This is the location of the Capo Teulada military zone, which has been in existence since 1956, and under its jurisdiction are some of the most beautiful beaches in the region, accessible to civilians only at certain times of the year, i.e. July and August. The base boasts some of the most beautiful beaches on the island: fine sand and crystal-clear seas reminiscent of Caribbean scenery.

The splendid coves of Capo Malfatano, dominated by a Spanish tower and a pond in the background, were chosen as a port by the Phoenicians as early as the ^6th century BC.

Close to Teulada, Porto Tramatzu is a pearl: fine white sand, green and turquoise waters, clear and shallow seabed all the way to the islet opposite.

Nearby is the magnificent S'Ottixeddu (known as the Americans' beach), access to which is permitted (and limited) only in summer.

Another corner of paradise within the military base is Cala Zafferano, accessible only by sea in July and August.

Further west, Arenas Biancas, in the southern part of Porto Pino, is a pure gem: the beach, which is a protected natural area, is made up of very light sand and bordered by spectacular dunes up to 30 m high. The waters are crystal-clear and the seabed gently sloping.

This rather wild gorge was carved out of pink porphyry by the Rio 'e Forru, which flows along the bottom. It is here that pools of crystal-clear water have formed, as well as the so-called "giant's potholes", i.e. basins carved out of the living rock by all the little waterfalls that dot the area. The largest of these jumps some 20 m. It is advisable to visit this gorge in the dry season, to enjoy the coolness of the torrent, and above all to avoid venturing into it in stormy weather or during periods of high water.

This is an unusual site halfway between ethnographic museum and amusement park. A stone village was reconstituted with 40 shops each representing a trade, and a place, a water mill, fanciful fountains…
