MERCEARIA POÇO DOS NEGROS
Read moreAt the very bottom of the long Poço dos Negros street, you'll find this pretty boutique, full of treasures to offer. You'll find a wide selection of gourmet products from all over the country: cheese, enchidos de porco preto from Alentejo or bísaro from Trás-os-Montes. There's also wine and craft beer to go with it all. And then there's the stuff you want to take home in your suitcase, or coffee from Flor da Selva.
ALCÔA
Read moreHoused in a building where you can admire Querubim Lapa's sublime Art Deco azulejos, this patisserie comes straight from Alcobaça. It specializes in traditional doces conventuais , sweets made from egg yolks left over from the production of hosts. It's amazing how, with the same base of eggs and sugar, you can have such a variety of cakes. It's hard to choose from among those on display in Alcôa's showcases. We warn you, though, that they're very sweet, so not to everyone's taste.
