Padaria Ribeiro exists since 1878, it is a very beautiful traditional bakery in which you want to try everything. It's a good thing! The pastries in miniature version will delight the gourmets who want to discover the salty and sweet specialties of Porto. Delicious almond and passion fruit tarts, cod fritters or devilishly good camarão rissol. Special mention forthe pastéis de Chaves, small breads stuffed with minced meat. To make it all go down, we order a good squeezed orange juice or an excellent coffee.

Founded in 1933 by the Bastos family, Arcádia is a superb chocolate factory with Art Deco architecture that has other stores in the city and in the country. The "lambareiros" will have a hard time making their choice and leaving this magnificent store. Let the salesmen advise you instead. Of course, you must try the port chocolates. And those with ginger and cinnamon. But also the cat's tongue. And the macaroons. Don't forget to try the almonds, they are terrible! This artisanal chocolate factory is also a tea room.

An excellent address for pastéis de nata, perhaps the best in town. The puff pastry is a success, crisp and golden to perfection, the cream is glossy and divine in the mouth, and the pastéis are perfectly sweet. In this chain, which can be found all over Portugal, everything is made on the spot, before the amazed eyes of customers, and the laboratory is visible from the street. A must-have from Porto. One of the main organic supermarket chains with different branches in Lisbon. In the main stores you will find a very well stocked and very cheap. Many tables where you sit down, side by side, with other clients. Vegetarian cuisine (salty pies, fond, rich dishes) but also a few fish dishes. Prado is both a restaurant and a delicatessen. It is linked to the restaurant of the same name and both want to highlight Portuguese gastronomy with local products. The origins of the Black Pig Alentejo brand lie in the affection of its creator, Miguel Ângelo Nunes, for the Alentejo region. The distillery is located in Santiago de Cacém, where gin, rum and arbutus are produced. In 2019, the brand, thanks to its excellent gin, became one of the most awarded in Europe with several international gold medals. Its artisanal production method respects the traditions of the region and works exclusively with local botanists. Fabulous!

Behind this store is the work of two brothers - Darchite and Jimite. For three years, they worked on the perfect recipe for vegan doughnut dough and ice cream to create, in 2019, Scoop n Dough. While the team started small, today more than 24 people are working to serve you the best doughnuts in town. You'll find the classics with simple frosting but also ultra original recipes like chocolate pie, crumble or tiramisu, and we're not even talking about their ice cream!

In the pleasant municipal garden near the station, place fair trade, new energy cooperatives, fresh and organic natural products, crafts and recycled products… Sometimes even to musical animations and to stands of well-being (massage, yoga, etc.).

Claudio Corallo's boutique-laboratory, an Italian agronomist and a great experimenter with an ecological sensibility, specializes in 100% natural chocolate and high quality coffee, both from São Tomé and Príncipe, an archipelago in the South Atlantic Ocean and Portugal's smallest former colony. In her store, you will find good products presented in different forms: roasted beans, various bars, coffee beans covered with chocolate or cocoa sorbet.

Its galleries in a beautiful rehabilitated palace have recently turned into a bank and health club.

This estate is run by a Frenchman, Guillaume Leroux, who has a degree in viticulture and oenology from Montpellier. This passion was passed on to him by his father, and he perfected his knowledge in the Douro region. He began his project at Monte da Casteleja in 1998, a traditional 7-hectare farm inherited from his grandfather. 3 hectares are planted with vines, using only local Portuguese grape varieties. Production is certified organic. Accommodation is available in one of the four bedrooms and the themed apartment.

Welcome to the old women's prison of Ponte de Lima! This impressive stone and wood building has been renovated. It is now very tempting to go through its thick door since it sells a wide range of gourmet products from the region (wines, jams, chocolate, honey). The house also serves drinks and tapas. Next to Martim Moniz at the beginning of the Mouraria, you enter a small alley that does not really inspire confidence, but at the end a small hidden treasure for the gourmets. We had heard that it was one of the best chocolate cakes in Lisbon. Sofia, the creator of the recipe, developed this cake over the course of the tests, with her entourage as a critical opinion. She keeps the recipe for this little wonder secret. A kind of dark chocolate fondant, with its ganache and mousse, you literally melt! A word of advice to gourmets: this is a Portuguese ice-cream factory, with more than 30 flavours. A stone's throw from the Estrela garden, you can enjoy sorbets and ice creams: Belgian chocolate, passion fruit tart or basil lemon, nata pastel, cinnamon and honey. At Oliva & Co, as you may have guessed, we offer a whole range of olive oils. Here, you will learn more about the making of an olive oil, but above all you will find quality assured, and not counterfeit as it can be unfortunately sometimes the case. But in this modern setting, far from being a grocery store, it is the products derived from olive oil that are mainly sold: biscuits, chocolates, soaps... Opened in 2014, this tea shop has become an essential address in Lisbon. We sell a wide selection of teas from here and abroad, as well as homemade creations, such as "Earl Grey Portugal" flavoured with bergamot produced in Portugal, "lisbon breakfast" or the very good teas from Darjeeling. For several decades, it was a tea and coffee shop. A Carioca, founded in 1936 by Isidoro Teixeira, has given way to a store selling vegan pastéis de nata (i.e. without any animal products). In the spirit of a small grocery store, Casa Lourenço is a century-old delicatessen that offers quality regional products. Be careful, inside it's a blast in terms of scents and flavors. Let yourself be tempted by what you like or what would be a pleasure to offer (they will vacuum-pack your products). The salespeople are extremely friendly and helpful and will advise you on the cheeses of the region. There is also a wine section to go with it.

If you are told: de cabra, da Serra, Amaralo Beira Baixa, picante Beira Baixa, gorgonzola, gouda, pecorino, Monte de Vinha, Lola Motez, de Sao Miguel..., you think "cheese" and then you say "yum, I want some! "Welcome to the cheese palate. Regional or from elsewhere, they have all been selected for their quality. Let yourself be tempted. Rota Gourmet is a delicatessen exclusively dedicated to Portuguese products. Unmistakable during your visit to the Vicentine Coast. This padaria is famous in the region, and is one of the unmissable stops for Portuguese people going on holiday in the Algarve. Famous for the quality of its alentejano bread baked in a wood-fired oven and its homemade cakes (with almonds, nuts, raisins, alfaroba, or with honey), each more appetizing than the next. At the foot of the church of São Domingos, near the praça da Figueira, a small institution that seems to come from the depths of time. Casa Chinesa offers, in a deliciously traditional disorder, dried fruits, local pork meats and many other small typical treasures from the endless salted cod to herbs for infusion. This glacier has been around for about 60 years and has always made homemade ice creams and sorbets, made with real fruit, without colouring agents. The many flavours invite you to indulge in delicacies, some of them are very original, such as white-cardamom chocolate and pineapple-basil. It must be said that the offer varies according to the season and the products available. The ice cream cake and cups are also to be tried. Without doubt one of Porto's most famous and appreciated glaciers, even if it is a little outside the city centre. You'll melt.

The Mercearia Mercado São José is a house founded in 1894. The bacalhau is the great specialty of the place, and the dried fish hanging all over the store show it. There is also a selection of wines and delicatessen products. The salesmen are of good council, smiling and available. A traditional grocery store as we like them, where the know-how and the knowledge are clearly visible. Here, there is no risk of being cheated.

João Portugal Ramos is one of the most famous winemakers in Portugal. An ideal place for a walk or a lunch with friends, but above all to taste the wines and the local gastronomy (cheeses and various snacks depending on the season's products). If you're visiting or staying in Setúbal, we recommend a visit to the town's municipal market. Inaugurated in 1930, it was modernized in 2011. Inside, you'll find large azulejo panels illustrating the region's economic activities. Then take a tour of the stalls, especially the cheese stalls for the famous Azeitão cheese. You'll find it cheaper here than in Lisbon. Otherwise, you'll also find charcuterie and bakery stalls selling Alentejano bread to go with the cheese.

This boutique is part of the "lojas com historia" network, meaning that it has been part of the Lisbon landscape for many years. Initially located in Baixa, it reopened in 1957 in the Alvalade district. Now run by Paulo Manso and his mother, the store is the only one in the district to offer a full selection of coffees and teas. It's a true Portuguese-style coffee shop, with the addition of sweets, cookies, dried fruit...

The name says it all: this store focuses exclusively on olive oil. It all began with the desire to highlight Portuguese olive oil, too often overshadowed by that from Spain or Italy. Helena and Lino, the owners, have therefore decided to offer a fine selection from different parts of the country: Algarve, Douro, Alentejo, Tras-os-Montes and Beira. Complementary products (known as homeware) such as olive wood kitchen utensils and traditional soaps are also on display.

Castro, created in 2019, celebrates the essential pastel de nata, paying homage to centuries of history and taste. With three workshops open to the public, including two in Lisbon and one in Porto, it is dedicated exclusively to making this pastry. Here, you can buy pasteis de nata, taste them at the counter or take them away. The spaces are designed to create a sophisticated atmosphere and a unique sensory experience. What's more, you can watch the entire production process being carried out by hand.

Juliana's passion for pastry-making began at the age of 12. She made it her profession and trained with the best. While in confinement, she set up her own project, "Barü", which later took on its own name: a patisserie all her own, where she serves up cakes as beautiful as they are delicious. She mixes flavors and, above all, uses her favorite ingredients, such as flowers and essential oils. New sweets to discover every week.

This is the oldest bakery in Ericeira. Open since 1963, it bears the name of the family that has run the establishment for all that time. Even early in the morning, the bakery is always busy, as people come here to eat the famous ouriços, a local sweet that resembles sea urchins. The recipes for the cakes are kept secret and were developed by the owner's mother many years ago. In the window, neatly arranged, you can see the multicolored cake boxes used to store the dried cookies.

By entering this beautiful store created in 1900, one makes a journey in time. The regional products offered here with their beautiful label written in felt-tip pen are for the most part unavailable in supermarkets. The canned sardines prepared with different seasonings are delicious. Very nice selection of wines, spirits, freshly ground spices and dried fruits. The originality of these wine cellars lies in the fact that they are dug in blue granite, ideal for the conservation of wines. The cellars of Murganheira offer an instructive visit about the history of the place and the production of sparkling wine from different Portuguese and foreign grape varieties. It takes about 25 minutes to get there by car from Lamego. The visit lasts one hour. At the end you will be strongly tempted to buy one or more bottles to take home or to offer to relatives.
