For several decades, it was an emblematic tea and coffee shop. A Carioca, founded in 1936 by Isidoro Teixeira, has now given way to a vegan pastéis de nata store. The original decor has been carefully preserved, with its antique counters and retro details recalling the charm of yesteryear. You can still buy the house's historic coffee here, or enjoy it on the spot with a delicious pastel de nata. At night, the colorful neon façade lends a unique cachet to the neighborhood.
