A small structure of four rooms (21 m ²), four studios (35 m ²) plus a loft (70 m ²), whose rates well accessible due to the proposed comfort make it an appreciated address in Tana for several years. Very close to the Embassy of France, close to good restaurants. Welcome to Mr. Ballou, the boss who is generously involved in the rehabilitation project of a hospital organized by the Association of Friends of Madagascar (formerly AKAMA), one of the founding members, with already EUR 2 million injected.

Located in the upper town, this 56-room hotel, spread over two buildings, regularly renews itself to better accommodate travelers from all walks of life. The Zomatel works with major travel agencies. The rooms are classic, but comfortable. There are two dining options: gourmet cuisine at the Entrecôte du Zoma and the Zoma Grill snack bar (wood-fired pizzas, bakery, pastry shop and ice cream parlour). The space also hosts a massage room and Pierrot Men's photo gallery. An efficient address.

The 12 bungalows, nestled in a green setting, are built with natural materials and all have a shower (with hot water) and toilet. Quite simple, but with ample comfort, they are also located in a site of great beauty. A true haven of peace. Restaurant service. Boat excursions everywhere on the lake, the canal and to Tamatave. Discovery formula over 2 days in "camping boat" but also hikes, bicycle rides... The reception is charming, we appreciated our last visit.

A few steps from the bus station (so convenient), some spacious rooms, some better than others (with balcony it is more pleasant but also quieter). Renovations were made (sanitary and tile in some air-conditioned rooms). It is a bad thing, but for transit it is the case.

On the lake in a charming setting, this hotel offers spacious bungalows with bathroom, private terrace and fan. Charming and well integrated into the environment. Restaurant and bar. Nautical centre for walking on the lake. Many activities for recreation and excursion to the island of Portuguese. Surf site, so an ideal plan for the amateurs (confirmed).

A charming hotel, quiet, well kept and very comfortable. The 32 air-conditioned rooms (8 of which have a mezzanine) surround a flowery patio. It is welcoming, well thought out, and very nicely decorated. The Cinnamon Bar overlooks a pleasantly landscaped garden for a relaxing break. Wellness area (massages). All kinds of excursions are proposed in the region with multilingual guides: Berenty reserve, Saiadi park, Portuguese islet, Lokaro bay, Saint-Louis peak. An excellent choice in this price range, with a smiling and professional welcome.

For a long time, Le Dauphin was the only hotel worthy of the name. Neighboring La Croix du Sud, and owned by the same group, it is set in a particularly pleasant wooded park, with fifteen rooms, eleven of which are air-conditioned. The restaurant is one of the town's best-known establishments, serving delicious meat and seafood dishes... Tours of the town and surrounding area are available, as are numerous excursions: Berenty reserve, Saiadi park, Lokaro bay, Pic Saint-Louis, Islet des Portugais.

Simple but quite comfortable and well kept. Take into account if you want to escape tourists near the beach.

A privileged and exclusive site held by Jacques and Sandra. The lodge is placed on a beautiful beach. All the bungalows are very well decorated and very clean, the first (Mango) with a small private terrace are located under a large mango (where the lemurers feed), others (Ravinala) are a little larger with a beautiful varangue. All bungalows are equipped with a bathroom with shower and hot water, toilet and fan. The two recent sand villas facing the sea, a little away for even more privacy, with a large private varangue, lounge corner, loungers, electricity 24/24. A great place for the restaurant where you can serve a unique menu in the evening in the table d 'hôte (entrance, dish and dessert), we appreciate the bar (the house-arranged rheus) and its ethno-chic decor. All kinds of excursions are organized, including hiking tours on the island. Nice shop for shopping (embroidered sheets, silk scarves, raphia bags etc.). Once very focused on South Africa, customers have diversified recently, on a human scale this very beautiful spot guarantees you a quiet stay. The diving center has a hyperbaric cashier, a Scubapro of the year, Nitrox, and all the necessary amenities for divers and residents. Classic night dives or a "fluorecescent night" option using special blue lights that illuminate the corals of a thousand colors, a feast! New news: a spa for massages and sale of natural and oils (Homeopharma).

A summary address for small budgets, particularly interesting for its family room, really cheap. You can eat in the restaurant across the street.

Beautiful address near the airport (perfect for a transit or waiting for a flight in the evening), in a forest of 3 ha. We feel in the countryside! The bungalows, which are a beautiful part of wood and stone, show an obvious artistic research: raw granite bathrooms, unique crafts… They are also very comfortable. Beautiful swimming pool (but cool in the southern winter). The restaurant serves meat, fish and camarons specialities. Bike rides are offered. 

2 steps from the beach, a good plan for small budgets. Welcome to Guy and a restaurant that left a very good memory.

Just in front of Karibu Lodge, you can access it from the cornice road by a rather crazy staircase. Since 2016 new management of John and Emilie. The establishment is being renovated slowly but surely (beautiful fresco, new swimming pool), and works exclusively with a clientele of Tana and residents all year round. The couple, connected to the Malagasy artistic world, organize hip-hop and dance-hall classes.

Kind of "traditional village" made up of bungalows in local materials (bamboo, rosewood, ravenala… hence an interview sometimes difficult) overlapping a little (lack of intimacy, but user friendly). Each room can accommodate up to three people (mezzanine). A provision: kitchenette, satellite TV corner, private bathroom and private terrace. Comfortable enough, but we appreciate the flowered garden.

Central and impersonal establishment, offering quite clean rooms but with a limited comfort. Therefore, without a claim, practical and functional. The La Veranda restaurant (near, but not on-site) offers a varied and varied cuisine.

26 bungalows spread under coconut trees, on the water (direct access), not far from the harbour, and in fact close to the centre. Pleasant environment, but benefits a little decreasing lately (lack of maintenance). Prices, however, remain accessible. You can order your meals. In July 2013, new comfortable rooms were under construction on two floors.

Traditional Malagasy house, with its red brick walls and interior woodwork, its garden and two terraces, nestled in a green setting, near the city centre. The 5 rooms, well decorated, are designed to be eco-responsible: solar water heater, rainwater harvesting, cooking from wood chips and not from charcoal. The complex is well equipped. Aïna (full of good advice) also offers a table d'hôtes (perhaps sometimes a little light), as well as sandwiches and homemade pies during the day for the hungry. A warm address away from the beaten track.

The most comfortable structure in the village. It's a pity that it's not better placed in an attractive site (it's a bit of a permanent site)! But the rooms are spacious, comfortable, with separate WC and a little character. Even the economic rooms are the right ones. The restaurant «Grilled zébu», just next to it, has a nice bamboo ceiling, but one would feel a little in a station hall; cooking, however, has left good memories. New rooms were under construction in June 2013 in a large building on the rear.

Bungalows of 18 m ² in a tropical setting, with a nice view over the bay, with private health and office. Satellite TV, internet and telephone available. Catering service (grilled and seafood). Prices are very soft, especially as you are entitled to a small swimming pool. Good advice from owners, always available.

Created in 1992, the Baobab Café was picked up by Patrick, a former owner of the restaurant «Le Menabe» in 2000. A very popular address of the groups, for its beautiful tropical swimming pool and its restaurant/bar with seafood specialties. Not on the beach, but on the edge of the canal and mangrove. Prefer the most expensive rooms on the pool side, much more pleasant than those on the ground floor near the reception. All kinds of activities and excursions are offered (including bulk fishing). 

Not ecstasy, but finally it is always much better than many addresses of the same category, for the same price. A small effort in maintenance would not be superfluous, but good… A certain heat anyway. The prices are very reasonable.

Taken over in 2018 by Sebastien and Vanessa, this hotel has 13 simple, airy and clean bungalows, around a tree-lined garden and a most convivial common area (resto/bar), facing the lagoon. It is a good place to meet other travelers or residents who like to get together for a chat over a drink. The menu changes according to the arrivals, it is fresh of the day! 100% solar energy, 24 hours a day. The beautiful terrace was redone at the end of 2022. All you have to do is let yourself be carried away!

Bungalows a little into on each other, but it gives a certain stamp to this little little corner, nestled in a small tropical setting. They are charming, well kept, clean and fairly comfortable. The rooms are not yet, though less exotic. There is a rather good kitchen on the spot. The owner, the very good biker, reserve a nice welcome. The whole offers a very honest value for money; good compromise in sum.

A resolutely contemporary structure offering 48 rooms of great comfort, with elegant and refined design, with a private terrace. The facilities are exemplary: Wi-Fi, safe, minibar, air conditioning, satellite TV, hair dryer. We also appreciate the magnificent swimming pool facing the lagoon, in the lounge music and relax atmosphere (table tennis). The establishment of the establishment, honours seafood and other specialties. To be done (inter alia): the beautiful day of excursion to the Mats Island and their restaurant Le Napoléon where you enjoy grilled lobster in a relaxing setting, with three bungalows on site for an extension of stay; also a day to the private spot of the hotel situated north of the island to the cocoteraie, a bungalow is laid on the beach. All traditional activities are of course organized. Rental of atvs, motorcycles, 4 x 4, boat exit (the hotel has three). Complete «Red Land» spa for a massage on the lagoon. The director, Christine born in Rwanda, is a great passion for Africa. A team always listens to its guests, very available and smiling. The hotel is a partner and founding member of Cétamada.

By far, the best plan. The restaurant is in the main street, but the bungalows are located on the beach.

On site, a nice surprise is offered to the eye: the view of the city from the terraces. This set of outdoor spaces, full of nooks and crannies, favors intimacy and contemplation. One of the terraces extends the restaurant where the smell of good food is always wafting... Not surprising, since the owners are Italian and do not deviate on the quality of fresh pasta or homemade ravioli. The whole, of Mediterranean inspiration, is warm, with comfortable rooms and colored bathrooms.

Located in the centre of Tamatave, this residence offers comfortable guest rooms. During the day you can go to the beach (500 metres) or enjoy the hotel swimming pool. On request, a dinner with local cuisine can be prepared.

10 bungalows in thatched roof with private health (hot water), bungalows were enlarged in 2014. A very good value for money, especially as the site, with sunsets on the massif in the distance, features a heated swimming pool (with sun loungers). Note that the upper bungalow is larger and the more class. Excellent welcome to Epicure (finally a Malagasy hotel manager… nice!) and all his team.

The hotel is located close to the Café de la Gare, with a cheap Chinese restaurant. The rooms (private health, television, telephone) are functional and well maintained. Quality-price ratio very fair, if not to play in the "charm" category. The best options: The apartments with equipped kitchen, to stay independently.

Air-conditioned rooms, with mini bar, TV. You will be able to restore a wood-fired pizza or a seafood dish. Excursions in the proposed area.

A real and beautiful seaside spot, on the edge of a beautiful stretch of beach, in a wild, quiet and fresh site. The restaurant overlooks the bungalows, well furnished and comfortable, on the beach. But the big point of the place is all these activities available (in addition): rental of quad, wholesale fishing, diving (a perfectly equipped yacht club is operational on site, under the patronage of the jovial Yannick), billiards: we are not bored for a moment! Excellent surf and windsurfing spot from June to December (packages for one week). The couples will find a happy peace. In the end, an address of choice, thanks to a pleasant combination of relaxation, comfort, and activities both nautical and terrestrial.

For the same price as Glover, comfort is still superior: Houses, clean, clean and even pleasant. Possible excursions. Bounce not too bad with the means of the edge.

The bungalows are right for the price, especially as the site is magnificent.

The spacious wooden villas, set on the lagoon so to speak, cover 120 to 200 m² and are equipped with 2 to 4 bedrooms with kitchen, living room, terrace with a hammock and a small garden facing the sea. Each villa has its own housekeeper who will accompany you while respecting your privacy, take care of the housework and can also prepare Malagasy dishes as if you were at home. Vanibeauté's salon for massages, and in the same structure, the restaurant "La Varangue" with its large terrace, its deckchairs and its nice decoration, offers pleasant meals.
