Pancs offers a new way of eating pancakes. But in this new and nicely decorated establishment, it is especially the welcome that seduced us. We feel the team is passionate, and their advice makes you want to taste everything! This time, we opted for the smoked salmon pancake with poached egg, spinach and homemade sauce, accompanied by a maple syrup pancake for dessert. We'll definitely be back to try the chicken teriyaki one! On the spot or to go, it's always a delight to go to Pancs.

The Hotel Zur Sonne on the corner of Gotthardstrasse and Kirchgasse is an imposing chalet that is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and typical of the resort. The hotel provides both accommodation, with cosy rooms, and food. Its traditional restaurant welcomes you in a fully wooded room or on the terrace, and proposes typical dishes of the region where fondue has of course its place. An excellent address and a welcome stopover for lunch halfway through your journey.

The Schützenmatt restaurant, inaugurated in 2016 in partnership with the Swiss Red Cross, offers work to refugees in order to train them and help them integrate into working life. The establishment is overseen by a talented young chef, Sören Wirth, who produces tasty cuisine that has earned a reputation among food critics. This neighborhood brasserie, conveniently located in the center of Altdorf, boasts a lovely shaded terrace and excellent menus. Impeccable service and a warm welcome.

For years, Steakhouse Ochsen has been known for the quality of its meats served on a hot plate. Some of these meats are quite different from our usual fare. Bison, zebra, ostrich and horse meat are added to the beef, pork and chicken we're used to. Naturally, the cost of a meal is commensurate with the originality of the dishes chosen. You can also enjoy fish, such as tuna or salmon, gnocchi with parmesan, risotto or deliciously prepared pasta. Gourmet desserts.

You'll find Lengmatta Schraemli's, a family-run hotel-restaurant, close to Frauenkirch station. This handsome establishment is housed in a former farmhouse, with a tasteful wooden decor and authentic ambience. The restaurant serves excellent Swiss specialities such as cheese and meat fondues, as well as classics like veal à la zurichoise and röstis. You can also enjoy the magnificent sunny terrace, the view over the valley and the warm welcome of the owners.

A beautiful, brightly-colored house and a shady outdoor terrace: that's the first thing you see when you arrive at this restaurant, part of which overlooks Marktgasse. While the indoor dining room is a no-go when the weather's bad, it's nice to sit under the trees on the terrace. Here, you can enjoy excellent cold dishes (mixed salad, saveloy salad, assorted charcuterie) or more substantial hot dishes, such as the famous Appenzeller Siedwurst with cheese cornettes. It's not easy to find an address in Gruyères that stands out from the crowd. In addition to its value-for-money rooms, the hotel-restaurant Le Saint Georges offers local cuisine in a modern setting. The terrace, which overlooks the Moléson and the village below, invites you to stroll and offers a magnificent view of the mountains. Above all, the restaurant adapts to the seasons, offering fondue ski and fondue snowshoe packages. We love it!

This cosy café-restaurant is located in the heart of Aarau. Open all day non-stop, the establishment welcomes you for lunch, dinner or just a coffee. At lunchtime, in addition to the salad or soup of the day, the chef offers gourmet dishes with exotic accents, such as the chicken salad with mango vinaigrette. In the evening, recipes are also influenced by fusion cuisine, with many Asian touches. Aperitif platters are also on the menu.

Historically, the Stiva Grischuna was a popular meeting place during the first boom in tourism in Disentis in the years 1890-1914. In 1985, Hanni and Norbert Maissen bought it and turned it into a charming restaurant. The centrepiece is the large stove in the middle of the restaurant, which is very popular on cold winter days. Fondue or raclette, served with veal, chicken or beef, is offered daily à la carte with homemade broth, salad and French fries. Swiss wines are featured to accompany your meal.

Departure for Thailand for a meal. It's a charming little restaurant with a typically Swiss beamed ceiling, but adorned with statues of dancers from Khon, the Thai theater, Buddhas and other ornaments that allow you to relive the Siamese atmosphere for the duration of a meal. Enjoy thom kai gai, the famous chicken soup with coconut milk, a good mango salad, a Siamese or Indian curry, pad thai and many other traditional delights. Excellent value for money and a warm welcome.
