In early 2020, during the first confinement, a new project was born in Commes in the Bessin region, between Bayeux and the D-Day beaches. L'Arbre, an agri-cultural third place, is the result of the strong ties that exist in the small commune. From now on, one and the same place will bring together agriculture and culture. Inspiring!

On the agricultural side: Le Jardin de Deux'Main. A word of advice: take the time to stroll and smell the countryside before heading off to Port-en-Bessin. Stop off at Guillaume's! Passion and love, agroecology, no-till market gardening on living soil, agroforestry and permaculture are just some of the ingredients of his philosophy, and of his nearly three hectares of garden. The result: tasty fruit and vegetables. The market gardener is just like his garden: both delicate and generous. And don't forget the fresh eggs from his mini-farm. Direct sales every Tuesday and Friday.

On the cultural side: Tiers-Lieu L'Arbre. A place open to all (workshops, gatherings and events online). A perfect stopover for cyclists following the Vélomaritime or the cycle route from the D-Day landing beaches to Mont-Saint-Michel, the farm also offers self-catering accommodation. Guests share the communal living areas, cooking and eating together! And soon, a large auditorium, an associative café and a coworking space will see the light of day! It's an innovative place that advocates a collective approach: one to watch, as it evolves at great speed.

Open field, in season and extremely fresh! At the Jardin des Saveurs, you will find fruits and vegetables galore. Picking is self-service from mid-May to the end of October. At home, there is sometimes not enough space to grow vegetables, and even though we often try to harvest what we sow, we have to face the facts: being a market gardener is a job. With a basket, you can make your choice, everything is sold by weight. Every day, Patrick and Dominique Pierre put on their website the production ready to pick.

Alix and Jacques left their Cathar country to give new life to Kerdaniel, a family orchard that had fallen into neglect. The objective: to revive the farm by drawing inspiration from the ancestral know-how of the inhabitants of the Pointe, to integrate the orchard into the sensitive environment between the Loch River and the Bono River and to work in such a way that their production reflects the terroir and its typicality. The harvest is done by hand and the apples are transformed into cider, apple juice and brandy. And since 2018, taste also the KerdaMiel!

The expression "good melon" came from the people of the village who kept repeating that the melons of the Raynal family were good. One day, Jean wrote it on a sign in front of the shop. The name stuck. Just like the slogan: We speak Catala. 80% of the produce on sale comes from the Raynal garden, seasonal fruit and vegetables grown using sustainable agriculture. The other products come from friends whose work methods Jean knows. When quality goes hand in hand with a smile and a good mood, you don't want to change the early bird!

Frédéric Mouret's family farm harvests untreated walnuts sold under the Noix du Périgord PDO. This organic farm specializes in nuciculture, the cultivation of walnut trees. The production of walnuts in shell, kernels and traditional walnut oil has won awards from the Guide des Gourmands, and was voted Saveur d'Or 2021 and Saveur d'Argent 2022 at the Saveurs Nouvelle-Aquitaine competition. This producer of apples and pears is part of the Welcome on the farm network. You can pick up, in season, and on the weekend, up to 15 different varieties of apples on the tree. On site, a store offers direct sale of apples, pears, apple juice, pear juice, apple jelly, gingerbread, honey and vegetables from exploitation, as well as cider, pommel, calvados and apple cream manufactured by a local producer.

This brotherhood brings together some forty growers from the north and south of the Vaucluse region, who are committed to creating top-of-the-range cherry varieties. Their first creation was the Monts de Venasque in 1978, followed by the Chérise in 1997. Mont Venasque cherries have the particularity of being large in size. Every year, a festival is held in Venasque on the 1st Sunday in June, with tastings, a market featuring local produce and a parade.

The site is welcoming and houses an eco-museum dedicated to this local species, and is animated by Xavier Calizi, passionate and inexhaustible about the citron. In Scorbé-Clairvaux, six employees of Le Ressort, an employment-oriented company, are reviving the mushroom farm. In the cellars, nearly a ton per month of white button mushrooms, oyster mushrooms and shiitake mushrooms are grown. The production is sold on the spot, at the Galerie du Réemploi in Naintré or in supermarkets, in local produce stores and on markets (Tuesday in Scorbé-Clairvaux, Wednesday in Colombiers and/or Ozon, Thursday in Cenon-sur-Vienne). Don't hesitate to try the processed products: velvety button mushrooms, Greek button mushrooms, oyster mushroom spread... For good local mushrooms, you now know where to go!

La Cueillette de Seresville, located in Mainvilliers, is a food market selling fruit and vegetables picked directly or in the store, as well as farm produce and groceries. The boutique remains open throughout the winter, selling seasonal vegetables. To get there, take the CD 105/1 between Mainvilliers and Seresville, then turn left towards the pick-your-own. Parking is available, but not guarded, so please do not leave anything of value in your vehicle.

In a green space next to the Rennes stadium, Mickaël has set up on an acre of fallow land to take up a challenge! Protecting ecosystems. As opposed to monoculture, permaculture combines wild plants with traditional know-how to achieve higher yields. Practice, if you don't want to cook at all, the Farm also offers a dinner basket, between 5 € and 10 €, with depending on season a soup, a dish to warm, for example; everything is developed with agricultural products, organic guarantees. The basket of La Ferme Saint-André is delivered within a radius of about 50 km around Friedolsheim in the Lower Rhine.

Created in 1997, the integration enterprise Biau Jardin produces organic products on an area of 17 hectares. The offer is complete: seasonal vegetables and fruit, organic eggs, bread, fair trade products, natural health and beauty products and delicatessen. Everything is offered at the shop, which also accepts the doume, the local currency. Biau Jardin offers weekly baskets filled with seasonal vegetables and fruit, with a subscription system.
