Read moreJean-Philippe Ballanger has created the Moon Harbour brand, a 100% Bordeaux whisky: the cereals are grown in the region, the copper stills are made by a local craftsman, and the aging barrels come from nearby châteaux (Sauternes or red wine grands crus). The tour takes in the raw materials storage area, the vat room, the stills and a bunker converted into an ageing cellar. The tour ends with a tasting of the whiskies, rum and gin also distilled on site.

VÉDRENNE
Read moreThe Védrenne shop in the rue Bossuet is a nice showcase for the group of the same name based in Nuits-Saint-Georges. Created in 1923, the Védrenne house is a real institution. Among the distillery's products, we can mention the "Supercassis" blackcurrant cream at 20 degrees which is a pure delight, or, very trendy, the triple dry curaçao. The fruit creams are available with chestnut, blueberry, vine peach and the liqueurs allow to make amazing cocktails, like the one with elderflower. There are many references in the shop.

Renowned for its Williams pear eau-de-vie, the company perpetuates the tradition of trapped pears, hanging thousands of carafes in the pear trees between mid-May and mid-July every year. Since 2011, Emmanuel and Béatrice have been at the helm of Manguin; while continuing to enhance the house's expertise, they have created new spirits: Caraxès - a blend of pear eau-de-vie and old Caribbean rums - Bourbon Barrel, Oli Vodka and Pastis d'Avignon.
BELLET DISTILLERIE
Read moreThis distillery has been created by Henri Bellet in 1922. The shop, close to the distillery, seduces by its scents of plants and fruits. All the liqueurs made from macerated plants (verbena, thyme, génépi...) by the house are there, starting with the guignolet Bellet, the first creation, followed by the specialities "la châtaigne royale", a liqueur made by infusion of chestnuts, and the fruity aperitifs, such as "le Bell'pêche", "la myrtille". Without forgetting the liqueurs made from génépi and gentian, nor the green pastis, a mixture of aniseed and verbena to be tasted with 4 to 5 times its volume of water added. The liqueurs are presented in bottles with varied and original shapes. So many gift ideas.
