Day 1: Arrival and visit to the capital

Steps: Ciudad De Panamá

Your stay can begin with a visit to the capital. Climb the Cerro Ancón, the hill overlooking the city, and stroll along the Causeway, with its breathtaking view of the Bridge of the Americas. With the whole family, you can visit the must-see Biodiversity Museum designed by Franck Ghery.

Day 2: City bike ride

Steps: Ciudad De Panamá

In the morning, take a breather in Metropolitan Park, the capital's green lung. Rent a bike and ride along the modern district to Casco Viejo, then sit down at the fish market.

Day 3: Discovering Isla Taboga

Steps: Isla Taboga, Isla Contadora, Isla Saboga, Isla San José

Just 1 hour by boat from Panamá, discoverIsla Taboga, the charming flower island where Paul Gauguin stayed, or, better still, the Las Perlas islands, such asIsla Contadora, Saboga or San José, if your budget allows.

Day 4: The village of Portobelo

Steps: Portobelo, Fuerte San Lorenzo, Esclusas De Agua Clara

Departure by tourist train for Colón. After visiting the new Agua Clara locks, head for Fort San Lorenzo or the village of Portobelo, whose ruins are a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Day 5: The pirate island...

Steps: Isla Grande

Rice tasting on the green island of Isla Grande or excursions in the small villages sleeping on this coast previously so coveted by the pirates.

Day 6: New adventures in Bocas del Toro

Steps: Bocas Del Toro

Return to Panama and a change of scenery. Departure for Bocas del Toro by plane, to meet the Afro-Caribbean community that livens up this Caribbean coast. Visit some of the Ngäbe Buglé communities that live here and are opening up to tourism.

Day 7: Dolphins and red frogs day

From the rootsy ambience of Old Bank and Carenero to the secluded paradise lodges, each island has its own unique atmosphere. The archipelago abounds in treasures: lush vegetation fringing wild beaches, dolphins and tiny red frogs.

Day 8: Panama under water

Steps: Boca Del Drago, Parque Nacional Marino Isla Bastimentos, Bastimentos

Day excursions to discover underwater fauna and flora, for example in Cayos Zapatillas or Playa Estrella. Bastimentos is also a renowned national marine park.

Day 9: From Bocas to Boquete

Steps: Boquete

Journey from Bocas to Boquete. The bus will take you along a winding road surrounded by dense humid vegetation.

Day 10: Discovery of coffee plantations

Steps: Boquete

Two days in Boquete to enjoy the charm of this small mountain town surrounded by coffee plantations, forests and green pastures.

Day 11: Fertile valley and national parks

Citrus fruits and vegetables thrive in this fertile valley. The nearby national parks are home to many birds, including the famous quetzal.

Day 12: Discovering the world of típico

Steps: Chitré

Discover the típico world of the provinces of Herrera and Los Santos. The inhabitants, proud of their traditions and folklore, will show you a new facet of Panamá. Stop overnight in Chitré.

Day 13: Day of regional crafts

Steps: La Arena

Why not meet the potters of La Arena or the region's masks?

Day 14: Fishing, diving and sea turtles

Steps: Pedasí

Further south on the peninsula: Pedasí. Fishing and diving. Not far away, thousands of turtles come to lay their eggs every year, no doubt charmed by the long, wild beaches whose rollers are also very popular with surfers.

Day 15: Robinson Crusoe

Steps: Isla Iguana

Isla Iguana : this small deserted coral island off Pedasí is a protected natural area. It's easy to get there with one of the local fishermen. Humpback whales can be seen between July and September...

Day 16: In the middle of a crater

Steps: Santa Clara, El Valle

Back on the Pan-American Highway, where you can choose between the cool ofEl Valle, a small village in the middle of a volcanic crater, or the beautiful white-sand beach of Santa Clara. From El Valle, with its renowned handicraft market, there's plenty of hiking to be done.

Day 17: Immersion among the Indians

Direction the archipelago of San Blas, autonomous territory of the Gunas Indians, in 4x4 then launched or by plane. A new environment that will delight you.

Day 18: Treasures from Panama

Between islets lined with palm trees and the inhabited coral reefs, one no longer knows where to give your head. Maybe you should stay longer!

Day 19: Hammock and lobster

After a night in a hammock in a rustic hut, there's nothing like lobster for breakfast! Then it's back into the water with your mask, before chatting with fishermen or a molas weaver.

Day 20: Last party with the return

Steps: Ciudad De Panamá

Last shopping and evening of despedida ("goodbye") in the discos of Uruguay Street or on the terraces of Casco Viejo.
