DOMAINE TERRE DE MISTRAL

Winery
3.5/5
6 reviews

Terre de Mistral was born from the passion and the combination of two demanding families on the quality of their respective production: Davico, vine grower and Gueury, organic olive grower. Domaine Terre de Mistral is at the bottom of Sainte-Victoire and offers an incredible view on this so expensive mountain to Cézanne. This address is not other than a vineyard and olive-growing, where it is possible to taste and buy the wines and olive oils produced locally. True farmhouse inn, the establishment works with its own products. The à la carte proposes a refined cuisine, Mediterranean, authentic and simple: vegetable tian roasted of the garden, porchetta of rabbit to truffle of summer, with its beaded juice of pépidon, smoothie of strawberry to the olive oil and its sorbet basil... The menu changes every week. The service is at the same time attentive and smiling. Cherry on olive: dinners jazz and other gourmet and cultural meetings regularly programmed.

DOMAINE DES TERRES BLANCHES

Winery

1 review

Located in a beautiful setting at the foot of Alpilles, Domaine des Terres Blanches has been cultivated in organic farming since its creation. Ask for some explanations at the estate (5-minute drive from the centre of Saint-Rémy towards Eygalières). And then, since you are there, you will be tempted by a free tasting within the brandnew wine shop where Isabelle and Jennifer wait for you. A vault with fancy decoration where noble materials mix together: wood, metal... You will also find on the spot a selection of local products. Also use your visit to take a stroll (free tour of the vineyard with companion guide). On arrival of these waymarked walks (which lasts approximately one hour), the natural vine culture and the vinification methods will no longer be a secret to you.

CHÂTEAU SIMONE

Winery

In the 15th century, this superb property was the Clos du Roi René. With a vineyard of 50 hectares, Château Simone has been owned by the Rougier family since 1830. The cellars, dug in the 16th century by the religious order of the Grands Carmes d'Aix, contain several galleries on different levels; they are remarkable for their homogeneous temperature and natural hygrometry. It is said that this estate produces one of the best wines in the whole region... Note that it was one of Churchill's favorite wines!

DOMAINE GUILBERT

Winery

Domaine Guilbert is the story of the smallest estate in the appellation, with 6 hectares of vines planted around a Provencal farmhouse and cultivated organically. In 2007, Guy and Nathalie left their city, their job and their habits to put all their energy into a project: to do everything with their hands on the estate. After two years of apprenticeship, the roles were naturally distributed: Guy is in the vineyards and in the cellar; Nathalie speaks about the wine, markets it and has created its image and reputation.

MAS SAINTE BERTHE

Winery

This former farm has existed since the 1539 th century, and acts attest to its presence in. Four centuries later, in 1950, the domain is bought by the David family, which gradually makes a wine-growing area: The cellar was opened in 1976. Today, Mas Sainte-Berthe produces red, rosé and white. The vineyard is conducted in a reasoned and reasonable fight. The winemakers observe, listen and celebrate the aesthetic of their situation at the feet of the Castle of Leases cliff. The fruit is treated and the vinification is courteous, in the benevolent respect of the grapes. The Rosé wine A.O.C. Les Baux-de-Provence Passe combines five varieties, Grenache, syrah, mourvèdre, cinsault and cabernet sauvignon. It's a rosé in the nose of dominante berries and in the mouth ample mouth.

Winery

This is a prestigious area, just kilometres northwest of Aix. Pont-Royal Castle was built in the th century by the ancestors of the family. At the time, the master's house, the royal post relay and the hostel were used to serve wine from the area. Today, the vineyard stretches over 13 hectares and the operators, Jacques Alfred and Sylvette Investors, surrounded by their three children, vinifient their wines by focusing on revealing the aromas of the year in a perfect balance between colours, scents and flavours. The low yields and the small area of the vineyard make their vintage products rare and high-end. Result: two fabulous vintages (Grand Crus Prestige and Cuvée) with reds, rosé and the label organic quality agriculture France. The area hosts seminars, receptions and weddings.

DOMAINE MILAN

Organic store

The wines are excellent, in red, rosé and white, and this is what you expect when you go to a winery. In addition, the welcome is perfect and the staff really pleasant. But what also characterizes the wines of this domain is the philosophy that presides over their elaboration, in total harmony with nature. They are organic wines, both in the assembly, without adding sulphur, and in the cultivation of the vines which are worked taking into account many parameters, including the lunar cycles. DOMAINE DE SAINT-BACCHI

It is a very small wine estate of 7 hectares on a property that houses a chapel that has given its name. In the valley, a legend about this Bacchi. The estate produces 70% rosé (grenache, syrah, cinsault), 20% red (grenache and syrah) and 10% white (rolle). Among the house's successes: the "Grande Garde", a gastronomic grand cru made from complex vinification and old vines selected with tact, or the fruity and highly award-winning "Mas Cadenet". CHÂTEAU BAS

Winery

The way in which this beautiful domain is being conducted is laid, without a sleeve or dogmatic choice or posture calculated, in the image of the place, highly venerable by its history which was, in the first century before Jesus Christ, a Roman temple, and then, in the year 1054 of our era, a Christian chapel. Saint-Césaire chapel, accoladed to the temple. Restored in the seventeenth century, the castle is the perfect union of ancient rusticity and elegance of the Great Century. This authenticity is extended by the choice of conversion to organic farming, initiated after Philippe, a manager since 1996, took the full measure of the wine and geological heritage of the 72 hectares of Château Bas. The range of wines produced here in the three colors is structured from fruit wines, tasty and sincere, to the wines of the terroirs and ranching: Alvernègues, Southern Stones, Cuvée du Temple.

CHÂTEAU SAINT HILAIRE

Winery

The estate is located in Coudoux, 15 minutes from Aix-en-Provence. It is at the bottom of this chain of Mediterranean hills that the vineyard of Château Saint-Hilaire stretches over its 60 stony hectares. For two generations in the Lapierre family, this family operation in organic conversion, recognized for its vintages, moved in 2016 in its castle, between vineyards and olive trees, a building that succeeds the old sheepfold in the center of the village. Today, the latest generation equipment does not detract from the attachment to tradition, marked in particular by an aging cellar of over 180 barrels. Tastings, visits and wine-tourism events play an important role in the life of the château. A calendar to follow throughout the year... The vineyard is based on several grape varieties. For the reds and rosés: syrah, grenache and cabernet sauvignon. For the whites: clairette and rolle. The château traditionally offers four cuvées: Côté Sud, Château, Prestige and finally the Cuvée One Ed. Limitée. Each one is available in the three colors. In addition, there is an authentic range of sweet white gold and sparkling rosé and white wines...

DOMAINE LES BÉATES

Winery

Pierre-François Terrat is one of the best winemakers in the Coteaux d'Aix appellation. His rosé Les Béates is of a rare power and can accompany meat dishes without any problem. Anything but a thirst-quenching wine. In a lighter range, the cuvée Les Béatilles is pleasant to drink. We appreciate the very reasonable prices considering the quality. The Béates vineyard covers 53 hectares of the best land in Lambesc. The Béates were nuns who, in the 16th century, went from village to village to teach children to read and write.
