This restaurant-brasserie, with its contemporary furnishings, is housed in a perfectly renovated former grain market. The premises are pleasant, bordering the Sambre and overlooking the Citadelle, and popular with tourists in fine weather, especially on the terrace. The menu features regional and local cuisine in a busy atmosphere. A tempting selection: shrimp croquettes, veal bread à la namuroise, braised sweetbreads, salmon au gratin or linguine with scampi. Sauces are plentiful, so ask for them on the side.

Pascal Pirlot prepares top-flight bistronomy dishes. The modern premises exude a certain warmth: the icy chocolate walls contrast subtly with small touches of fiery red. The house owes much of its reputation to its fresh fish and shellfish dishes and its seasonal menus, always precisely directed. From autumn onwards, game plays elbows with sole and Breton lobster. The chef's speciality: an egg cooked at 63°C (in a different version, but never off the menu) and incredible value for money.

The dishes are typical of French and Belgian (fine) cuisine: local preparations, game in season, fish and shellfish... all with a literally breathtaking view over the Meuse! In this 19th century mansion, beautifully decorated in bright and pastel colours, paved with old tiles, you can also eat in the garden in the summer. On the first floor of the Hotel des Tanneurs, the Grill has been completely revamped. Decoration, service, cutlery and meats, the whole place has taken on the appearance of an Argentinean grill, a country dear to Geoffroy Bouvier's family. On the menu, meats from there and elsewhere, but you can also enjoy a minced tartar, a rack of lamb in a crust, kidneys à la Namuroise and fish. A special mention for the home-made béarnaise, the chips and the three-course menu "de la Tante Jeanne". A must, each time a rediscovery for meat lovers.

In the house once owned by his parents in the Plante district, Charles Jeandrain offers gourmet cuisine based on seasonal produce. The hyper-trendy decor is the opposite of the classic style of yesteryear. On the plate, haute cuisine: lobster rubs shoulders with sweetbreads, Iberian pluma, langoustines, turbot and oxtail. The chef also offers Belgian "ocietra" caviar, served with cauliflower, lemon and bread. Reservations recommended. Take-home store and classes to reproduce.

Pompon is much more than a chip shop, it is an institution almost as well known as the Caves themselves. Yeah, that's a bit of an exaggeration In addition to the classic French fries, which are served generously, the restaurant room also features XXL meat cuts and brasserie dishes. Belgian beers complete the picture. Please note that the dishes are also take-away. Just opposite, the tavern Au Vieux Han (same direction) offers a beautiful terrace where you can taste some special beers, including the Corne du Bois du Pendu.

For over half a century, Bouboule has been the king of Moules! Offering only the best quality, Bouboule has forged a solid reputation well beyond the city limits of Dinant. The menu features no fewer than 35 mussel specialties (1.2 kg, served with fries), as well as classic suggestions for fish, meat and stews. The view over the Meuse is breathtaking. If you're booked up, the "Bouboule chez soi" option lets you take the pans home with you, including (super-simple) instructions for use!

The terrace is a delight for lovers of picturesque views, between rock, Collegiate Church and Meuse. The menu features "local" beers from the famous Leffe brand. The place is particularly pleasant, with an outdoor terrace adorned with rustic tables and benches, and an indoor terrace overlooking the small marina and lake. On the menu at any time of day: tagliatas, entrecôtes, meatballs with homemade tomato sauce, filet américain, burgers, pastas and salads, a jumbled menu of dishes that aren't too fancy, but are good, hearty and reasonably priced.

Right in the heart of Rochefort, this is much more than just a restaurant. The brasserie-style cuisine is extensive, with several Trappist-style dishes on the menu. It's hearty and authentic. There's no shortage of beer recommendations, led by the Rochefort range of beers, brewed at the abbey a few miles away. And Rochefort fans won't be disappointed, as the restaurant displays a number of collectors' items linked to this monastic beverage in a Grenier de la Trappiste.

Le Grain d'sel is a good address to discover the Belgian gastronomy. The fries are excellent, as well as the famous meatballs, fricadelles, brochettes and sandwiches. Pascale is very sympathetic and does not hesitate to give you information about the region to help you discover less touristy places. The restaurant also has a very pleasant terrace on sunny days.
