You'd think you were in the South-West of France, but Marie-Anne Ballan raises and feeds her ducks in the Bresse region of Burgundy, where they are slaughtered and processed directly on site. Slaughtered weekly, the products are 100% fresh. On the menu: rillettes, terrines, foie gras, confits, cassoulets, fresh vacuum-packed products. Products can be tasted directly at the farm. There's also a store where you can take home a whole range of tasty dishes, not to mention a host of gift sets. Tours of the farm are also available.

GAEC PARDON

If you're a fan of short circuits, you'll want to go directly to a well-known producer, Gaec Pardon. It's a family business run by Guy and his two sons Pierre and Sébastien, nestled in the hamlet of Chavannes. Over 150 Alpine goats are part of the herd. The family farm also boasts 70 Charolais cows and 50 dairy cows, making it possible to multiply the number of creamer mixes and offer numerous cheeses and Charolais meats for direct sale. You can also visit the facilities and see the animals.

CHATEAU DE BUXY

Local producer

This young domaine is located in Buxy. Laurent Cognard bought his first vines in 1997, and settled here in 2006 with 5.5 hectares. Today, he manages almost 18 hectares of vineyards, from the Côtes de Beaune to the Mâconnais, including 6.4 ha in the Montagny1er cru appellation. The estate, which produces white, red and crémant wines, limits its phytosanitary inputs to a minimum, earning Terra Vitis certification for the 2020 vintage.

PÉCHÉ SUCRÉ

Honey and jam producer

Located in a shimmering former Perrusson tile factory, Péché Sucré was created by Laurence and Xavier Augagneur over 30 years ago. They produce delicious jams (45 references), spreads, gingerbread and shortbread, chutneys and onion confits, all handcrafted in a small laboratory from mostly local raw materials. A wide range of regional products is also on sale: terrines, mustards, liqueurs, honeys, wines, as well as home decor and old postcards.

DOMAINE DE MONTORGE

In 2014, Yann Flandre took over the family estate, founded in 1972, which produces only Montagny1er crus, certified organic since 2023. The estate's 13 hectares, which boast superb views over the surrounding countryside, are notably spread over the Coères and Chaniots lieu-dits. A monopole cuvée is also produced. With their characteristic minerality, Montagny wines are perfect with shellfish and white meats. Yann Flandre's wines are featured on the menus of some of Paris's finest restaurants, and are also exported worldwide.

The Parfums de Terroir boutique was born from the union of several producers associated in a GAEC. Here, the focus is on red fruit: strawberries, raspberries, blackcurrants, morello cherries and redcurrants. The little berries are assembled, prepared, cooked, stewed and even glazed. Other fruits, such as rhubarb and blackcurrants, are also added to these sweet delights. This little store in the middle of the countryside is home to some real gustatory treasures. LES CONFITURIERS DU MORVAN

These homemade jams are real delicacies. You can find them in regional grocery stores, but the choice is even wider at La Celle-en-Morvan. Over 40 flavors are on sale, including a homemade spread and, the latest addition, banana and banana-cocoa jams. The heart of the Domaine des Pins lies between Burgundy and Beaujolais, on the slopes of Saint-Amour. 8 hectares of vines are cultivated using sustainable methods, producing Saint-Amour, white Beaujolais and Crémant de Bourgogne. Taken over by Joseph De Sonis, a great connoisseur of the terroir and wine-making, joined in 2017 by Bertrand Polosse, the domaine is working to promote this romantic appellation cru to the region's top restaurants and around the world.
