THE BROOCH CASTLE
Read moreIt was built in the. area and was built from 1895 to 1898. Built on the Azay-le-Rideau model, he now serves as high school. It is the last Renaissance castle built in France. It was Stephen Liégard, under-prefect and son of a former mayor who built him, not without the assistance of his wife Mathilde, rich héritière of a master of Lorraine Forges. Liégard would also have inspired Alphonse Daudet, his contemporary, who would have taken it as a model for the character of the Sous-Prefect in the fields. Our man is also the origin of the Cote d'Azur appellation, which he gave to the French Mediterranean coast called the French Riviera.

LE CAFÉ DES CHIENS - MÉDIATHÈQUE LOUIS BLAIRET
Read moreThe Louis Blairet Municipal Library took place in a place steeped in history, becoming a Médiathèque. This building, famous for its original and magnificent façade, which will be renovated in 2011, will remain for all the Laignois and the Laignoises "Le Café des Chien". A little history… In the middle of the th century, Augustin Husson, limonadier, bought an old building to Joseph Viardot, a dealer. He then built a café and realized, with his talent as a sculptor and a wooden operator, a very remarkable façade, which is still admired every year by many tourists. In 1895, Anna Verrière took up the establishment, then renamed "Café des Chiens". Closed for 2003 years, the municipality decided to buy it in. After a few renovations and works, the municipal library was born. Today, it is a dynamic establishment that hosts many readers and organizes regularly events: paint shop, scrap, books for books, authors'meetings, etc. There is also a Access and a very practical Internet point. A pleasant place and a good welcome!

THE BURGUNDY REGIONAL COUNCIL IN CHARGE OF ITS CANALS
Read moreFor two years, the Regional Council has supported its channels: the Nivernais Canal, the Centre Canal, the Bourgogne Canal and the Fit waterway. With over 1000 km of inland waterways, Burgundy has the largest network of inland waterways in France. However, these channels now suffer from a chronic maintenance deficit and require significant rehabilitation efforts (rehabilitation of works, consolidation of the banks, etc.). Thus, in order to give new impetus to these high-potential tourist routes, the Regional Council has chosen to experiment with management for three years. This situation is unique in France! The Region has set three main objectives: the protection of the Burgundian heritage, the development of river tourism around canals, the preservation of a water resource estimated at over 150 million m 3. If the experience is positive, the Region will then be able to decide on the transfer after two or three years. In 2010 and 2011, the Region invested more than € 21 M for canal rehabilitation.

ABBAYE DU VAL DES CHOUES - MUSÉE OPÉRA DE LA VÈNERIE
Read moreThe Abbaye du Val des Choues is an island in the middle of the Châtillonnais forest and falls under the great religious movement of the West of the 11th and 12th centuries. This building has as an authorizing officer Eudes III, duke of Burgundy in 1193. Inspired by Cistercian and Benedictine rules, Val des Choues scatters up to seventeen monasteries throughout Europe. Inès and Michel Monot invite you to come and join them to discover the boar hunting in their new museum opened in July 2017. Beyond its dramaturgy, you discover the history of hunting in the "Curograph of the equivalence of things and of the beings, animals and humans". The room of the temptation of trophies, echoes, silence, hallali, the workshop of the tailor and the opera of nature have been arranged in the Abbey with the contribution of contemporary artists. Every day, at 4 pm in the high season, do not miss the spectacular soup of dogs. The 150 dogs of tricoloured English-French breed by the crew Pique'avant-Bourgogne are waiting in silence for their master's signal. You will enjoy the gardens where Inès Monot offers basins, vases, flower boxes and Medici style sculptures to decorate your garden. During the season, two guest rooms are available.
JARDIN DU PETIT ROI DE GRÂCE - SANCTUAIRE DIOCÉSAIN DU SAINT-ENFANT JESUS
Read moreLe Petit Roi de Grace is a wonderful statuette made of polychrome wood, 58 cm high and sometimes adorned with sumptuous clothes. It was probably carved by a noble of the name Gaston de Renty. In 1643, he offered it to Marguerite Parigot, a carmelite carmelite carmelite. Entering the Carmel of Beaune at the age of 11, she would have had visions of the child Jesus as well as a gift to help the difficult childbirth, heal new babies and fight sterility. In his prayers, she saw the birth of the future King Louis XIV, born after 12 years of marriage. Many miracles allow Marguerite to be revered since, under the name Marguerite du Saint-Sacrement. Today, the sisters of the community of the Beatitudes leave the monastery to leave their place to 3 carmelite apostolic sisters of the child Jesus from Poland. If they were to expand their community, the place itself was recently proclaimed "sanctuary" and could gain importance as a place of pilgrimage. Don't forget to go through the magnificent Jardin du Petit Roi de Grace: A quiet area, outside the world, ideal for recharge. It houses the chapel in which the statue of the King of Grace is located. A scenic project is being considered to animate the garden and to live the place in a new way.
