Michel de Marmont, himself an artist, became a gallery owner first in Paris and then in Izère before creating a new gallery in Montbard and soon in Cannes. Trained in the construction industry, he quickly found a freer and more creative way to express himself, through painting, but also in innovative creations in relief, with sections of plastic straws cut and skillfully positioned. His Pop Art inspired painting is colorful with abstract and figurative forms circled in black. His Renault space was translated in this way. Discoverer of artists, he invites young creators to exhibit in his galleries. Sculptor, he also works on 3D subjects, a bust of his late friend Johnny Halliday, a unicorn, an ugly crocodile ... His crush on this former department store in Montbard inspired him. He created a gallery of more than 1,200 m² with a workshop for artists, who are welcome there. The building is currently being transformed into a residential hotel with a lounge bar. A roof top will be installed around the domes that light up the interior of the room. Another event to consume without moderation: The weekend of Affordable Art and Street Art,2nd edition, from July 8 to 10, 2022 where fifty artists will come to practice their techniques in the splendid Buffon Park of Montbard. The opportunity to meet them and to understand their techniques and inspirations. A bit of poetry at last!
