This family estate, located on the banks of the Orb, is an exceptional winegrowing property. For six generations, the Viennet family has been perpetuating the winegrowing tradition, and since 2006 has been focusing on wine tourism. The estate covers 60 hectares and produces a range of 12 wines, aged in a magnificent cellar carved out of the rock. The estate also hosts sculpture and painting exhibitions, and has five guest rooms in the château, surrounded by English parkland. The cellars can be visited by telephone reservation.

Entering the lair of the Cabanel house is to discover the Carcassonne of the 19th century with, in its courtyard, the superb ironwork marquee designed in 1868 in the Eiffel style. A historical place not to be missed, the place has inherited the secrets of the famous Micheline, a recipe dating back to the 4th century, and of the Or-Kina, a plant-based aperitif. It also produces a pastis 100% Carcassonne and the famous "Crème de Menthe" and "Crème de Citron".

We've been dreaming of a local beer with an Occitan name! Xavier Benoist has made it. A brewery engineer, he produces artisanal beers in Carcassonne, using French wheat, barley and hops. La Ciutat ("the city" in langue d'oc) comes in seven varieties: white, blonde, brown, Pils, amber, Ladies and Éphémère. Three local sodas round out the range, in the tradition of brewer-limonadiers, including the famous Carca-Cola (caffeine-free). Established in the port of Marseillan for over 150 years, the famous Maison Noilly Prat offers exclusive access to its heritage and the know-how of its cellar master.
