Mr Henin does not do things like everyone else! Beside the Gabriel & Albert restaurant, near Saint-Michel, the grocery store bears the name of his cousin (Panpi) and his cousin (Mirentxu). Inside, full of quality handicraft products such as Basque linen On Tiss but also to drink (coloured drinks with original tastes such as green bananas or rosé grapefruit, Barbapapa syrups, nice selection of wines) and to eat (foie gras, pâtés, Pata Negra ham, peppers and Produits products). Everything is beautifully presented in antique wooden furniture. A shop where the products are as beautiful as good.

Christelle and Anaïs, two "troubleshooters" in professional reconversion, are happily surfing on the wave of bulk groceries. The concept is simple: you arrive with your empty jar or you buy it on the spot, you weigh it, you fill it with everything you like and you pay only for the content. This mode of sale and sustainable consumption is part of the zero waste movement. For the content, the two friends favour local and regional organic producers with a fair remuneration, it is also one of the strong points of the bulk sale.

In 1755, the Intendant de Tourny decided to establish a branch of the Grand-Marché on the Place du Parlement. It was named the Royal Market. It was then moved to the Quai des Salinières and finally moved to the Place Saint-Michel in 1960. Today, some 160 traders are spread out on the Place du Bourg and on the Quai des Salinières, offering mainly foodstuffs, but also various items for the home, cosmetics, shoes and clothing. Ideal to buy in quantity, because there are often interesting offers.

You might think that the Chartrons covered market is actually on the market square, sheltered under the metal and glass hall, but no. To find it, you have to go to the rue Sicard. Seven professionals who select the best of our land (fishmonger, vegetable seller, cheesemonger, delicatessen, oyster merchant, wine merchant and a butcher) welcome customers who come to look for fresh and quality products in a friendly atmosphere. Another market of the Chartrons is held in the open air on the quays on Sunday.

Since 2014, the L'Alchimiste roasting workshop has been based on the right bank in Darwin, and is a delight for all the city's "caffeinophiles". The great vintages of coffee produced here can be discovered and tasted in the café-boutique set up next to the Intendance, where people come to enjoy a delicious coffee (espresso, cortado, cappuccino, filter coffee...) accompanied by a little sweetness... A place for exchange, advice and tasting, L'Alchimiste also offers a selection of coffee makers, machines and grinders for sale.

At La Jardinière, you'll find a wide choice of quality products, colorful stalls that make you want to push open the door, and above all, great taste. We recommend the delicious dried fruits, exotic fruits and squeezed orange juice in bottles or by the glass, or the vegetarian soups. You can order baskets of carefully selected seasonal fruit and vegetables at low prices, and have them delivered to your door. And don't forget to try our homemade royal couscous (to order).

Vents & Marées is the fishmonger you need to know. Don't be surprised, everyone has already spread the word, so you'll need to be patient before placing your order, especially during the festive season. For four generations now, fish, shellfish and crustaceans have been purchased directly from the auctions at attractive prices. The seafood platters (to order) are really top-notch. Vents & Marées prepares hot and cold dishes concocted by two professional chefs, and even sushi.

The first coffee shop to open in Bordeaux (back in 2014!), the longevity of this tiny cocoon is undoubtedly due to the quality of its specialty coffee. Lovers of latte art meet there to taste great vintages, roasted not far from there by Oven Heaven. Special mention should be made of the filter coffee, prepared by hand in Chemex coffee makers, the Rolls of the machines. Breakfast and brunch join the party, with excellent pancakes or pastries, and every week new sandwiches, burgers and dishes are offered at lunch.

Arthur Audibert lived in North America and Paris before returning to his hometown, having trained with some of the world's greatest master roasters. Six types of fine coffee are roasted on site: mochas, red bourbon, yellow varieties, blends and - sacrilege - decaffeinated. The owner particularly appreciates gentle roasting and tasting methods. If you can't get to his roasting studio on the Right Bank, you can visit his boutique. The L'Alchimiste website is very ergonomic.

Frédéric Vaucamps was born in the north of France and very early on he developed a passion for pastry making, which he decided to make his profession. He opened his first artisanal pastry shop in Hazebrouck in 1982 where he worked on various products, including meringue and brioche. He revisits the Merveilleux recipe, which he lightens up and offers in several flavours (dark chocolate, white chocolate, coffee, speculoos, cherry, almond and caramelised hazelnuts, caramel) and bingo, it's a success. The Merveilleux exists in mini, individual or cake of 4 to 24 parts. The Cramiques (brioches) are made with chocolate, sugar or raisins.

The reputation of the Maison Pariès has been built through five generations of master chocolate makers, pastry chefs and confectioners. From their workshop in the Basque Country, they make the best Basque cakes with almond cream, black cherry jam, chocolate, hazelnuts or citrus fruits. We also discover the ^Kanougas®, a soft caramel with 6 flavors, the ^Mouchou® (bise in Basque), with a soft heart rich in sweet almonds, or the Espelines, roasted sweet almonds, caramelized and spiced with a light touch of Espelette pepper.

Charlotte et Clémentine is not a shop run by two women with these names, but by Sonia and Mourad. Whatever the name, you are always very well received here. You can buy classic fruits and vegetables as well as exotic fruits and mini-vegetables. The pluses: ready-made fruit salads, an organic space, home deliveries, fresh vegetable baskets and fruit baskets. Everything is well presented and the prices are more than reasonable in this shop which is not very big.

Brunch includes savory dishes, pastries and sweet treats, all homemade. Advance reservations are recommended.

Coffee shop, restaurant and tea room... Cafeincup combines everything in one! The team welcomes you in the morning in a very friendly atmosphere. During the week, the atmosphere is studious: young people settle down to enjoy the coffee and the wifi. During the week, we enjoy the brunch. In the shop, you will find carefully selected coffee as well as accessories to make the best coffee at home: chemex, aeropress kit, stainless steel kettle, manual grinder... To be discovered in Saint-Pierre, cours de l'Intendance, in Bouscat and in Arcachon since summer 2022.

To set up a dairy right in the center of town was a daring move... Chloé and Claire have done just that, and have created a convivial place with second-hand furniture that can accommodate around twenty people. The address also boasts a large terrace, where you can sample their products at lunchtime. The two milk-entrepreneurs produce mainly pasta filata cheeses, but also fromage frais, yoghurts and milk. The "Do It Yourself" workshops, where you can make your own mozzarella or burrata, are a highly original and enjoyable experience.

Le Comptoir Bordelais is an essential stop for tourists and gift seekers. In this charming grocery store, which looks like an old-fashioned shop, you will find a wide range of spirits, local products and gourmet souvenirs! In addition to the traditional cannelés, you will find sweets, wine, liqueurs of all kinds, various aperitifs including Lillet, biscuits, foie gras, cassoulet, condiments, lentil sausages... Everything is always very well presented and very good.

Simon Rousseau has been passionate about cooking since childhood. Inspired by Thai techniques, he offers "à la plancha" ice creams, made from a homemade milk base using natural, local and, if possible, sustainable or organic products: milk, agave syrup, seasonal fruit... These delicious frosted creations can be found at numerous events around Bordeaux: if you get the chance, don't miss out on the rolled ice creams, unless you'd rather try a milk-free eskimo or a granita!

Have you ever eaten the perfect cookie? The one that's not too sweet, that has a chewy center yet is crisp and crunchy? The Petit Futé was on the lookout for just such a cookie at Batch Cookies. Here, at this tiny address, it's hard not to succumb to temptation, so appetizing are the cookies. Victims of their own success, you may have to wait a few moments for the latest batch to come out of the oven. Without a doubt, our favorite is the chocolate chip and walnut cookie. Go for it!

When Edith and Michel Noyez created Noisettine du Médoc in the 1970s, they had no idea that it would soon be found in numerous stalls throughout the region, as well as in Paris and Belgium! But that's hardly surprising, since everyone loves this delicacy, the recipe for which dates back to 1649... It's a generous hazelnut baked in a homemade syrup and coated with a puffed caramel. For a taste of this speciality, visit the store in Bordeaux or the boutique-musée in Blaignan, which organizes tasting tours.

Maison Mestrezat has been a benchmark in the Bordeaux wine trade for over 200 years. Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion is a vineyard located at the junction of the communes of Pessac, Mérignac and Bordeaux. It mainly produces a wine of the same name, in the Pessac-Léognan appellation. The wine produced at Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, emphasizing fruit and offering an elegant aromatic palette. The wine is described as young and dense, with a complexity that develops over the years. Louis L'Amour, or good bread... This passionate artisan baker trained at some of Paris's top bakeries, and every day prepares a dozen or so breads from selected flours, ranging from the most classic (tradition, country...) to the most original (sourdough bread with toppings, zebra bread...). A fine range of viennoiseries completes the offer, including excellent gourmet creations such as croissants with pistachio or black sesame filling, or kouign-amann cacao. A second address, Bouloulam, has opened not far from the Chaban-Delmas stadium.

Nelson Alvès makes pastéis de nata, these small melting flans with very thin puff pastry and creamy filling, specialties of Lisbon. He learned how to make them the traditional way from a Lisbon pastry chef and now makes them in front of us in his store. All the ingredients and even the oven come from Portugal, his family land. Here, three tables are installed along the wall to taste the cakes accompanied by a drink and, on the shelves at the back of the store, some Portuguese products...

Garg'Antoine is the first point of sale of Antoine Augeard, an agricultural engineer, who "fell into the pastis" of his father in 1986... He knows the aperitif and has made it his job. He has a whole range of gourmet pleasures, traditional and French, which vary according to his finds: cold meats, Basque pudding, old-fashioned white ham, pâtés en croûte, foies gras, figs stuffed with foie gras, Scottish salmon, smoked or in gravlax, cheeses, preserves, wines, beers, not forgetting the aperitif boards, aperitif trays and pintxos.

David Capy, Compagnon du devoir du Tour de France is also Meilleur ouvrier de France. After several years spent at Valrhona, he created his own shop and thus fulfilled his dream. His sweets are themed: fruity, chocolate and praline and timeless. One of our favourites is the Yuz', a creamy yuzu heart accompanied by a strawberry coulis and a creamy mousse lightly flavoured with yuzu. The whole is topped with a strawberry coulis flavoured with poppy flower and rests on an almond biscuit with its crispness... a marvel.

Iconic wine merchant in the heart of the city, the Vinothèque de Bordeaux exists since 1973 on an original idea of a Bordeaux house of high fame. Located on the outskirts of the Grand Theatre, the Conseil interprofessionnel du Vin de Bordeaux, the Grand Hotel and the tourism office, it becomes an institution. Dunes Blanches are the brainchild of Pascal Lucas, a baker in Grand Piquey. His famous crunchy puffs filled with light, airy cream are almost as well known in Bordeaux as cannelés. We can't resist treating ourselves to one or two - or even more - for sheer indulgence. You can buy them in Arcachon, Bordeaux and even in the Marais district of Paris. The recipe remains a secret, and to diversify tastes, Pascal Lucas sometimes offers ephemeral creations...

Pierre Mathieu worked at the Mandarin Oriental in Paris before returning to Bordeaux to open his own boutique. He shares his passion with his customers. It's very difficult to choose between all the cakes awaiting us in a very colorful window display. The Cardinal (crunchy streusel with hazelnut praline, punched chocolate raspberry cookie, creamy raspberry jelly, creamy chocolate-raspberry mousse) or the Paris-Brest are sublime. Pierre Mathieu makes macaroons, wonderful cakes, ice creams, sorbets and a few chocolates.

At Mama Sama, Samantha and Guillaume share their love of rhum arrangé. They explore a variety of flavor combinations based on old-fashioned recipes, updated and sometimes unusual, such as rum with CBD, rum with tonka, bois bandé, vanilla, or rum with cannelé... The rum comes from Martinique, the couple's home island, and is "arranged" in Bordeaux. To accompany their creations, Samantha and Guillaume have created pâté terrines with exotic flavors (coconut, curry, soy sauce, etc.), including one with 3% rum. All their lovely bottles can be found in wine shops and delicatessens, as well as direct from local markets or on the website.

Chocolate addicts will be seduced by this boutique opened by two gourmands, Ophélia and Alice. This ice cream parlour stands out from the rest by celebrating chocolate in all its flavours (dark, white, milk, ruby...) and forms (ice creams, sorbets, mousses, tablettes...), but above all thanks to its vegan range of ice creams, pastries and viennoiseries. You can't resist a crêpe topped with homemade spread and vegan whipped cream. Waffles are also available in a savoury version (vegetables, tofu and feta-style "fauxmage").

The Bakery Art Gallery, BAG for the intimate ones, is an unusual and all-in-one place: a bakery-pastry shop, a bookshop, a tea room, a contemporary art space... This surprising concept store offers gluten-free bread. Sylvie, the baker, offers original breads, such as the "Tout chocolat", with rice flour, cocoa and chocolate chips. This very warm meeting place also offers delicious pastries, as well as lunch formulas and even a hearty brunch on weekends. The space is also intended to be an artistic place with shows, exhibitions and projections of artists' videos. BAG is indefinable: the best thing to do is to go there!

Here, we love "children's space discovery" supervised by two professional animators and the "jewelry jewelry" which presents collections specially designed for Leclerc at light prices. Because it is at the price level, especially those of gasoline, that Leclerc makes the difference, while maintaining good quality. But changes in the shopping gallery: signs go and come forever.

Benoît and Domitille spent a few years at Ô Sorbet d'Amour in Arcachon before creating Benetille, a contraction of their two first names. Their production is 100% traditional: the ice creams are made with organic milk produced in the Dordogne, the sorbets are made with fresh products, the cones with or without gluten are made on the spot. The two ice-cream makers give free rein to their inspirations to put colourful and appetizing treats in the bins. One of their best-sellers is a vanilla ice cream with salted butter and caramelized almonds.

Fanny and Simon, better known as Fernand and Paulette, had the idea of importing to Bordeaux a granita recipe discovered in Asia. On board their three-wheeler, they make a crushed ice cream, grated from a block of raw ice to which they add an organic syrup from Meneau, which gives a great granita. They also make homemade fruity eskimos, respecting the seasonality of the fruits, collected from small producers in the region. For the adults, ice creams with Ricard, Spritz or the inevitable Mojito..

Following on from the success of the tiny boutique at the foot of the Grosse Cloche, Cassonade has opened a tearoom next to the Victoire. Good news for gourmets, who can now enjoy a double treat! As lovers of cannelés will tell you, these are the best in Bordeaux. They come in three sizes, as well as pure vanilla and vegan versions. To vary the pleasures, you can also indulge in another of their specialties, such as Saint-James (a soft cookie with almonds, orange and rum), flan, pink praline brioche, and so on

Launched in Paris in early 2020, La Quéquetterie has quickly grown to 10 locations, and it looks like the family isn't finished growing. The idea for this new pastry concept came from a young Venezuelan, Taziana Jurdi. She makes pancakes or filled waffles in the shape of penises and vulvas. The names are evocative: Sexy Coconut, Black and White, Sugar Daddy, Coco Lover, Cugar or the legendary unicorn... You can also create your own delicacy by choosing the base and toppings to add.

The Loco Polo comes straight from Spain. In a latino atmosphere, we discover frozen sticks not quite like the others. They are vegan, natural and not very sweet, so they are suitable for everyone, even people with dietary restrictions such as diabetes. Another originality: their double texture. The cheesecake stick, for example, is a milk ice cream with a runny raspberry heart. Those with a sweet tooth can even dip their ice cream in white, dark or milk chocolate and add toppings..

Perrine Procureur opens not one, but several Pandora's boxes which, contrary to myth, are not evil - quite the contrary... She creates a dozen buffet-style gourmet boxes, which she calls Pandorines. They are filled, for the most part, with local, seasonal and top-of-the-range products, and can be adapted to suit all tastes and circumstances, whether for picnics, aperitifs, family or business meals. The presentation is superb, very colorful, almost like a painting...

Restaurant Zéphirine offers on-site dining and takeaway, but does not offer a delivery service. To get to the restaurant, you can walk from Place Gambetta down Rue Judaïque, or take bus lines 2, 3, 4, 12 and 15 from Place Gambetta, or lines 1 and 16 from Gambetta-Meriadeck. Parking lots are also available nearby, such as Parking Gambetta and Parking Clémenceau.

On the road to the beaches of the Médoc Océan, the inhabitants of Brach have made this grocery store a must. Coming from Bordeaux or Castelnau, stop at the first traffic circle (where the bakery is hidden) to stock up on goodies. Olga cultivates the spirit of an old-fashioned grocery store: fruit, vegetables, dairy products, regional produce... you'll find everything you need when you're living in a small town or on vacation. All served with a friendly smile!

Hervé Gaillard's farm is typical of the Médoc, set among pine trees. Hervé welcomes you to the farm, but you won't see any cows, goats or pigs, because Hervé is a heliciculturist, a breeder of large and small grey snails, which he transforms into ready-made meals and preserves. He'll be delighted to tell you all about his snail breeding, his methods and his animals... And when spring comes, Hervé produces strawberries and asparagus, so you can buy fresh and preserved strawberries, jams and white asparagus direct from the farm.

A visit to the Cadillac-sur-Garonne market is a must! Carrying on a tradition that goes back more than eight centuries, this lively market is the largest in the South-West. Every Saturday morning, nearly a hundred merchants take over the bastide town and its ramparts to sell their quality products. Fruit, vegetables, local produce and handicrafts delight locals and tourists alike. You'll also find many organic products in a dedicated aisle. Pleasures for the senses and conviviality are guaranteed.

At the gateway to the bastide town, the Maison des Vins de Cadillac is home to a Best of Wine Tourism award-winning eco-museum. Discover the history of the vineyard, the origins of the AOC wines (Cadillac, Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux and Premières Côtes de Bordeaux), the different stages of production... An olfactory piano will also introduce you to the different aromas. The Maison des Vins also offers grape variety tastings (at a cost for 5 wines) and a whole host of workshops.

Did you know that Château Fayau is just a short walk from the bastide town of Cadillac? In just 15 minutes! Here, winemakers have been handed down from father to son since 1826! You'll be happy to let yourself be guided during the visit... right up to the tasting. Allow around 1h30 for the tour, which takes you through the winery and vineyards. And if there's one event not to be missed, it's the Portes Ouvertes Cadillac & Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux on the weekend of June¹ and 2, 2023. On that day: farmers' market and lunch (reservation required).
