Things to see and do Aquitaine

A collection of harmoniums, unique in Europe, was gathered in the th century church in the beautiful th and th century frescoes and beautifully restored. It presents the main harmoniums factors of the th century and over thirty instruments in very good condition. Music lovers or those who don't can play on most of them. The museum is open all year by appointment and during school holidays. 

In fact, Grotte de Beaussac is a small underground stream accessible to everyone from 9 years old. You'd better wear a pair of rubber boots because the first part requires to cross some water holes of approximately 50 centimetres in height as well as waterproof clothing. The accessories for the initiation to speleology are provided. Then, the soil is made of gravels to reach 600 meters further, at the bottom of the cavity. This is an important spot of concretions with ceilings approximately 8 meters in height. Various sets of themes are applied during the visit: genesis speleology, underground fauna, concretions, prehistoric man and caveman. This visit allows you to play safely as a potholer and to discover what nature has created for centuries. 

The municipality of Les Eyzies-de-Tayac-Sireuil proposes to relive 350 000 years of history in just a few kilometers! It is on the loop of the Micoque that you will discover this open-air museum. At the departure of the Vézère Park, the path crosses the river to go back to the fort of Tayac, where the first men sheltered themselves, before continuing to shelter from the fish. You can observe the role of water in the artistic representations of the Paleolithic, before continuing to the Laugeries. Here you can go back to the village and the shelter of Cro-Magnon, or continue on a longer loop, 12 km. It will take you to the Site site before offering points of view on Grand Roc and Madeleine.

It is in the south of the town of the Capital of Lauze (Saint-Geniès) that stands proudly this chapel on its hillock. This religious building, with its refined Southern Gothic architecture, reveals on one of its facades, an engraved inscription dating from 1329! Inside, you will find various registers with 23 hagiographic figures, including Saint Catherine, Saint Michael and Thomas Becket!
