In the asparagus capital of the region, some thirty exhibitors liven up this regional festival that kicks off the season. Asparagus takes pride of place, along with flowers, strawberries, honeys and local meats.

The farmers' market includes a velouté meal. At the end of the afternoon, it's time for the World Bundling Championship. The rules of the game: each bundle must weigh 1 kg, be tied with 2 rubber bands, and none must be broken. The day ends with a giant asparagus omelette. Entertainment and bandas. Ideal for families.

Initiated in 2012, Musick à l'Avance promotes local bands and young talent. A selection of composers and performers are to be discovered at this popular, good-natured festival with open-air music evenings. A food truck will provide on-site catering, and local craft stalls will also be present. The Musick à l'Avance festival (a reference to the local waterway) combines all styles. And to keep the party going, the artists are ready to keep Casteljalousians dancing all night long!

The Quartier Moderne or young designers' weekend: two editions a year for over 10 years now: spring-summer in May and autumn-winter in December. It's Nouvelle-Aquitaine's designer brand show! Held at the Espace de l'Océan in La Chambre d'Amour, it brings together nearly 40 recognized and up-and-coming designers in various fields of fashion, accessories, cosmetics, decoration and art.... An initiative of the 4 Vents du Bouglonnais association and retired bakers. In 1960, Ivan, the last baker in the village to make wood-fired bread, closed up store, and the smell of freshly baked bread ceased to hang over Bouglon. In 2015, bread and heritage enthusiasts restored the village's communal oven, and since then, a bread festival has been held in Bouglon in early summer. On the program: bread-making and baking in the communal oven, a "auberge espagnole" at lunchtime, and the opportunity to bake your own dishes in the oven.

A member of the very active Ciné Passion en Périgord network since 1986, Le Vox cinema is a Montignac institution. Eric, Franck and Marie Hélène keep this eclectic, cutting-edge cinema alive all year round. They leave no audience out with their selection, which includes films in VO, blockbusters and children's films, as well as mini-festivals, notably dedicated to short films, theme evenings and meetings. More than just a cinema, it's a place for cultural mediation and discovery.

Come and have a thrill at the beginning of the summer at the Noir Vézère Festival, which specialises in crime novels. You will meet local writers who will present their works and answer your questions, even the darkest! On the program, animations for all and dedications of about twenty authors, in a friendly atmosphere. Enough to fill your suitcase with Périgord thrillers to read on the beach or by the fire! Summer 2024 will see the château come alive:

- Cloak-and-dagger show with the Musketeers. From July 6 to 24, daily at 2.30pm (duration 30 minutes).

- Falconry show with birds of prey flying over the audience. From July 6 to 24 daily at 4.30pm, from July 25 to August 25 daily at 2.30pm

- Tournament of chivalry from July 25 to August 25 daily at 5.30pm (duration 40 minutes).

- Equestrian fire show, every Friday from July 26 to August 23 at 10.30pm.

Every year, Destination Agen celebrates Halloween, which has become one of the city's must-see events. On the afternoon of Thursday, October 31, children will have the opportunity to listen to tales in the spooky and singular atmosphere of a haunted house located in the medieval heart of the city of Agen. After the chills and shivers, the afternoon will continue with a mask-making workshop and a well-deserved snack.

For a week, Montignac vibrates to the rhythm of music and folklore from around the world. Shows and concerts are on the program, as are craft markets and exhibitions, notably in the Salle Jean Macé, which becomes a veritable treasure trove throughout the summer. The Woodrise Meetings in New Aquitaine present the actors of wood construction and wood at the heart of the cities of tomorrow in all its forms. The Cadences festival is dance in all its forms of expression! Every year in September, five days of festivities take place in the exceptional setting of the Bay of Arcachon. Flamenco, classical, baroque, hip-hop, contemporary, African, jazz? Cadences offers many shows for a week rich in emotion. Companies from all over the world are invited to express dance as a universal language, offering original creations. Performances take place at the Olympia Theatre, the Port Theatre and even on the beach! Around these shows are organized exhibitions and choreographic workshops, as well as free shows on the sand.

This now famous regatta of the basin takes place every year at the beginning of July from Saturday 6 pm to Sunday noon. The weekend is also chosen according to the full moon. Les 18 heures d'Arcachon à la Voile is a festive event that brings together hundreds of sailing boats of different sizes. It's THE pool race! It brings together sailing enthusiasts, both sailors and yachtsmen. It's a colourful sight to see hundreds of spis swollen in the wind...

Over the years, the Jumping des Sables d'Arcachon has established itself as one of the must-see events in the national equestrian calendar. The event brings together the best French riders around numerous events, including a very spectacular one on the Pereire beach at low tide. Over three days at the beginning of June, various show jumping competitions, entertainment, equestrian shows and the famous Derby on the beach follow one another at the equestrian centre.

On 25 March, this is the day of the Annunciation. The city of Arcachon offers the pretext for organising the city's employer's party every year. It is an opportunity to celebrate the heritage, culture and traditions of the city. The Little Festival is a 5-day party in Capbreton, Hossegor and Seignosse. More than 10,000 electronic music lovers have been coming together since 2017 to dance to the sets of renowned artists such as Yuksek, Etienne de Crecy, Folamour and Bon Entendeur. Every year, this unmissable summer event in the Landes region offers an attractive program as well as street art performances and a spotlight on board sports. In partnership with the Surfrider association, the festival is committed to an eco-responsible approach.

Brikabrak is a transpoetic festival that combines the performing arts and poetry for young (and not-so-young!) audiences. After a 2023 season that jeopardized the equilibrium of the association that supports it, the festival continues to work in the region, staging several events throughout the year. Musical storytelling, object theater, masked theater, circus, gestural poetry... the arts are adapted to young audiences aged 3 and over, and parents and carers are sure to join in the fun. It's time to immerse yourself in a most important investigation: finding Monsieur Lapin thanks to 2 animations. One for 5- to 7-year-olds, "A la recherche de Monsieur Lapin", and the other for 8- to 12-year-olds, "Top secret, le livret d'enquête de l'inspecteur Artaban". Budding investigators will be on the hunt for clues to complete their playbook and gain access to the chocolate treasure. This event is organized in partnership with Chocolats Bovetti, Terrasson.

listed as part of France's inventory of intangible cultural heritage, the Brantôme carnival keeps the tradition of the Occitan carnival alive. In the run-up to Easter, the carnival is traditionally a time for feasting and merrymaking before the Lenten season. Today, the dates are more widespread in Brantôme, as they are in Périgueux, Nontron with the Soufflaculs, Bergerac, Sarlat and other towns. Make-up, fancy dress, singing and dancing, before setting fire to the vile carnival man known as Pétassou. It's all in good fun, and confetti is the order of the day.

As at every farmers' market in the Dordogne department, this is the season for producers' stalls featuring ducks and geese in all their finery. The great urban agricultural festival will take place in Sarlat from September 23 to 25, 2022.
During 3 days, the essential role of agriculture will be highlighted. Its impact on the protection of the environment, animal welfare, product quality... Around the place de la Grande Rigaudie and the rue de la République: Exhibitions, strolls, small farm, agricultural competitions, contests, musical animations, catering...
