Since 1973, the Flora has been an integral part of life in the Castro neighbourhood. Located at the crossroads of Market and 16 ^th Street, it is quietly protected by a screen of green plants. The favourite hobby of clients is to look at people: It is not surprising that Flora is considered one of the best places for the cruisin ' (dredge) among the gay community in San Francisco. Incidentally, we order a delicious breakfast or one of the excellent dishes of the day to enjoy on the lovely terrace.

A family business of which Joan is the boss. This child of Czech immigrants grew up in New Jersey before going to Manhattan for cooking classes. Ready-to-eat dishes that just need reheating are also available. Proof that you shouldn't be fooled by appearances: even the most unattractive storefronts can hide real treasures!

The Inn at Death Valley had to have a restaurant to match its standing: the Inn Dining Room. The establishment offers refined dining for breakfast and dinner, with breathtaking views of the desert salt marshes and the Panamint Mountains. Weather permitting, service is available on the Inn's terrace. Local flavors such as cactus, citrus, date and even pomegranate from the inn's garden are highlighted in the menu dishes. Wind & Sea is known for its fish & chips, its soup of clams and its squid but also for its cocktail May Tai. It would have sold nearly 3 million since the opening in 1972. A record in the surrounding area.

A nice little bakery where you can buy pizza, focaccia or desserts to enjoy on a little bench or to take away for a picnic in Golden Gate Park. This cooperative, set up by its parent company in Oakland, produces all its breads and pastries with love: " make loaves , not war ". Prices are by weight, and if you're lucky enough to come across the roasted peach focaccia, go for it without hesitation, it's a delight. A small neighborhood address with a nice folkloric touch as we like them.

The two brothers behind Burgers and Brew decided to work only with local products to prepare their burgers and that feels like taste! The proposed hamburgers are fresh and perfectly cooked. We liked that to the lamb with mint and feta, original but effective! Beer is not left with a selection of some breweries, mostly local. The atmosphere is lively, especially in the evening!

As is often the case in Solvang, you can find Danish cuisine here. But here, the specialty is theaebleskiver, a kind of pancake in the shape of a tennis ball that you can enjoy covered with jam. You can order it through the small window to take it away or you can taste it on the spot and there is even everything you need to make it at home. The Solvang restaurant is also a pleasant address for lunch if you want to continue the Scandinavian immersion. On the menu, sausages, meatballs and cabbage specialties and a 100% Danish setting.

Only a few places to sit on the spot, but there are nice squares nearby where you can settle down to taste these bagels with eggs, ham, chorizo, bacon and other delicious toppings, which are as successful as in New York...

As its name suggests, L & E Oyster Bar has built its reputation on its oysters, sourcing them from the best oyster farmers in the USA. And they keep their promise: fresh, fine and delicious. Crab linguini, moules-frites, fish and chips, lobster roll, scallops with mushroom risotto and fried garlic, grilled sea bass with lemon rice... Fish and seafood also feature prominently in the main courses. The menu is small, clear and well thought-out.

Surrounded by bamboo and with a brazier at its center, the patio has a romantic atmosphere, while the two sake bars are the main attraction. Lovers of Japanese gastronomy, in the broadest sense of the term, will find a first taste of what it has to offer here. Sushi, sashimi, tempura, donburi, bentos... However, while the dishes are excellent, don't count on the sushi to fill you up, as the plates are relatively small. Also, please note that lunch is take-away only.

This beautiful fish restaurant is located on the harbor where you can take the ferry to Balboa Island. If weather permits (almost always the case) ask for a table outside, on the deck all in length, which allows to admire sailboats and the quiet wave in the sunset or through a beautiful day of blue sky. The kitchen is simple and tasty (vegetarian and meat dishes also available) and the atmosphere is family.

As its name indicates, it is the temple of the coffee and especially the doughnut that we find here in all its flavours!

The Bel-Air Hotel is led by the famous chef Wolfgang Puck. The cuisine is Californian with a modern twist and Mediterranean and European influences. The dishes are made with organic products from local farms. This establishment opened in 2015 and decorated with a Michelin star in 2016 offers to discover sushi made following the traditional technique known as Edomae. At the helm is Chef Jackson Yu who has been practicing this traditional cuisine for nearly 20 years. The fish comes from the Tokyo fish market every day (!). Two menus are served each evening, composed by the chef, who suggests you let yourself be guided in this culinary experience, no à la carte dishes. But you will have understood, everything is gathered to spend an exceptional moment.

Orange County's best fish taco! This is one of the trophies attributed to Bear Flag Fich Co. Created in 2007 by fishing enthusiasts, this fish store welcomes a restaurant with a very relaxed atmosphere, with extremely fresh products.

This deli, one of the few cheap addresses in Beverly Hills, has the charm of an authentic place. Nate'n Al has been in existence since 1945 and for the most part hosts a clientele of visitors. The interior is vintage with old leather benches. The whole garden is orange or brown… until the boxes of matches. On the menu, there are countless sandwiches for a very rich meal. We recommend la salad with chocolate foam pudding.

An institution of breakfast at La Jolla! This small brick house, which shows buildings around, welcomes on its large terrace the hottest workers with an unusual opening schedule starting am from morning to week. The speciality of the house is the scones, small cakes of British origin filled with different flavours (taste the cranberries!). Other pastries are available as well as a wide selection of sandwiches and salads.

A delightful French address for a gourmet breakfast or snack break. You can recognize Zazie from afar, with its sunny yellow awning. What we love here is the typical terrace. On weekends, customers, often with dogs (as they are allowed), flock here to sample the trout, snails, mussels marinière, steak tartare... And, exceptionally, the management prides itself on paying its employees well, as well as providing them with medical cover, and tells its customers that the tip is already included in the price.

There is no sign outside, but if you open your nostrils, you just have to follow the perfume of the Vietnamese pancakes, which emerges from this small restaurant. The design is modern and the atmosphere is quiet.

You'll find the best ice creams in the region at Screamin Mimi's, an institution for over ten years in the heart of Sebastopol. Everything is home with organic products and quality is excellent. You can only choose from perfumes to selling names: Pear gewurztraminer, mimi's mistake, pineapple ginger, buttered almond, mimi's deep dark secret or still grapefruit campari. Prices are determined by weight, so don't be surprised if you are asked what quantity you are satisfied with.

Fior d'Italia was rebuilt in the Hotel San Remo after a devastating fire. A very old-school establishment established in 1886, it is, according to its owners, "the oldest Italian restaurant in America"! The menu, a traditional Italian version focusing on northern Italian specialties, offers a wide variety of antipasti, pasta, meat and fish dishes, served with great pomp and circumstance. The stars of the menu are the perfectly seasoned osso bucco, lasagne and clam pasta. The bill, however, is steep.

A pretty house with meadows, a sharp roof and an interior just what you need kitsch: No doubt, you're at Peppercorn. Let yourself be tempted by the perfect iron steak.

You can't miss the huge terrace of this restaurant from the square. On sunny days, people rush to eat a burger or pizza. In the evening, we like to walk on the terrace with a last glass of beer by hand.

The best Mexican restaurant in the region. Dos Carlitos is the king of ceviche and tequila (with more than 50 varieties proposed). The interior is warm and the outdoor terrace is ideal for enjoying a margarita à (pomegranate)!
