The Caribbean in Palo Alto! On the menu, coconut milk shrimp, hot curried goat cheese, crab cakes and papaya salmon.
At Coconuts in Palo Alto, let your taste buds take you to the Caribbean. On the menu: coconut milk shrimp, hot curried goat's cheese and papaya salmon prepared by chef Robert Simpson, as well as the crabcakes that are a hit with regulars. All generously washed down with rums and beers directly imported from all the Caribbean islands (Jamaica, Cuba, etc.). Regular concerts include reggae, calypso, pan, rumba, salsa... Another good reason to drop in for a cocktail or dinner.

We got the coconut shrimp, jerk chicken, and curry shrimp plate. Food was delicious. The beans and rice really stood on its own! Can’t wait to come back to try the goat curry and the cornbread. What I think was the best part was the waitress who gave us great service.

Service here is going to knock a star off though. It looks like there's a decent amount of staff, but no one seems to know what they're doing. Took forever just to get seated! How is there not someone at the front to help seat customers??
Would still recommend trying this place out at least once. Pretty empty if you're here earlier in the evening, but can fill up.
