Tourist Attractions & Monuments en Provence

Obviously built after the medieval period, in rolled pebbles from the Durance, it was largely reworked by the De Fulque family, originally from Valensole and owner of the Marquisate of Oraison from 1720 onwards. This family kept it more or less until the Revolution and the building was devastated in 1792. It was then raised by one floor and transformed into a silkworm farm. Louis Pasteur was ordered by the State to come here in 1868 to study the silkworm disease called pebrine.

Cornillon-Confoux is a charming town in Provence with a tourist office to welcome visitors. However, it's important to note that the tourist office has recently moved to new premises.

The Massif massif is close to everything. Or far from everything, as you prefer! Less than 50 km from Aix-en-Provence, Avignon, Marseille and Arles, it comprises the villages of Aleins, Aura, La Enjoyable, Pélissanne and Vernègues. Hills with garrigues scents, small fountains, cobbled streets, centenaires trees and local markets: you can only be seduced by this small corner of Provence typical and well preserved.

Ethnography, Art, History and Painting are grouped into collections in a beautiful farmhouse "the Pavilion". The sheep rearing is illustrated by a model containing standard objects on the rural activities of the Crau plain. The history of soap in Provence and the trading of olive oil also find their place in this museum. Other assets: a garden accessible to the public, a library, documentation centre open to the public with photo library and tour aids such as audiovisual and some commercial services (bookstore, carterie, shop).
