Sidiailles is located 16 kilometers east of Chateaumeillant. The municipality has the particularity of having a village with only three houses! But its population is actually spread out on 33 hamlets. The communal territory is watered by several rivers: The Arnon, the Magno, the Jot and the Joyous. In 1976, a dam was created offering a reserve of drinking water with a surface of 90 hectares and a capacity of over 5 million m ³, with some tourist facilities. A 14-kilometer walk route allows you to walk from the village. The orientation of the church choir is quite specific: it is looking westward. This is not the only one of its characteristics: indeed it has a mosaic made by Italian artists who worked on Saint Peter's Basilica of Rome. The church, built in 1877, has one of the oldest bells in Europe, melted in 1235.Sidiailles is also found in the remnants of the ancient Cistercian abbey, founded in the first half of the twelfth century. It was built in shale moellon with sandstone size chain and had a traditional Cistercian plan. There are also two cemeteries in Sidiailles: the old one is located at the old location of the church and the new on the plateau, at the edge of the new village. At the end of the nineteenth century, a particular funeral ritual in this region of the Boischaut-Marche is to deposit the bowl of the deceased on the grave of the deceased. Graves are most often covered with zinc metal, particularly well preserved in the new cemetery.
