In the 8th century, Montauban de Bretagne was called Saint-Eloi. It was only in the 14th century that it took the name of the seigneury of Montauban before being named Montauban-de-Bretagne in 1995. It has a feudal castle built in the 13th century and rebuilt in the 15th century, once owned by the Montauban family. Of the original monument only the imposing circular keep remains. You will be able to discover one of the most beautiful chapels of the department, Notre-Dame-de-Lannelou (15th century) as well as a 580-hectare national forest with mountain bike and walking trails, and an arboretum. The ponds of Saint-Eloi and Challoux offer beautiful walks
