In the th century, the name of the commune was set. Until then the village was called Roc'h Morvan as reference to its geographical location ("rock'h" in Breton means "rock, rock") and in the name of a Viscount du Faou. On the heights, the site is occupied from the Roman era and its strategic position explains the construction of a castle that remains ruins. Some houses are hidden in the greenery around the village.
