Located in the south-east of Asturias, between the Picos de Europa National Park (to the east) and the Redes Natural Park (to the west), it covers an area of 205 km2. Its southern area is part of the Cantabrian chain of Picos de Europa and reaches a height of 2,100 m (Peña Ten), but two thirds of the park is occupied by the Ponga valley, which is built around a 1,950 m high ridge (el Tiatordos) and the valley of the river Sella. Its main interest lies in the magnificent Beyos gorge. Following the course of the Sella, it allows us to see the small villages (El Beyu, San Ignacio, Viboli or Casielle), nestled on the steep slopes of the ridge. The area is marked by the predominance of beech forests, and is an area of protection for birds (birds of prey, Urogallos) and hunting (wild boar, roe deer...). Products that are found in its gastronomy. You can also taste the cheese of Beyos, made of cow and sheep milk.
