This town doesn't warrant a trip except for its lovely waterfront on the Sea of Marmara, which is very lively with its parks, cafes and areas to enjoy an çay, and its old 18th-century mansions. Tekirdağ, on the other hand, is the perfect stopover on your way to the battlefields of the Gallipoli peninsula or the Greek border. The city's archaeological and ethnographic museum provides a good overview of the history of the region. Two other museums, dedicated to personalities: the museum of Namık Kemal, a man of letters from the city, and the Rákóczi Museum, named after the prince of Hungary who died in Tekirdağ.
