Travel Guide Cerro Del Majuy

The Serranía del Majuy is a sacred mountain located on a Muisca collective land(resguardo indígena). It is located in the municipio of Cota, 14 km northeast of Bogotá. This mystical and unknown place has several trails of medium difficulty leading to the Cerro del Majuy (look for the antennas). The main trail starts a little after the Bioparque ecological reserve (where you can take a guide for your hike). Ask for information at the tourist information point in front of the church, or in one of the surrounding cafes. Hikes of 2 to 6 hours of moderate difficulty. The views of the Sabana de Bogotá are magnificent. We cross wild and preserved Andean zones. Bring good shoes and protection from the sun and rain. No particular problem of safety announced, but the situation always evolves quickly in Colombia, a fortiori in an isolated place and so close to a popular locality of Bogotá (Suba). Therefore, avoid taking valuable belongings.
