Chía is a town located a few kilometres north of Bogotá, which you can reach by the autopista or by bus from the north terminal. You can enjoy typical dishes, visit the large shopping centre and admire the monument to the goddess Chía, which means moon in muisca language. The city developed by taking advantage of the Mockus Act, the mayor of Bogotá in 1996, which forced public institutions in Bogotá to close at 1 a. m. (until 3 p. m. or 5 p. m. today). Chía therefore opened at the time of restaurants and late closing boxes to attract the revellers of Bogotá.
